Story
Meet Mark!Mark is a 8-year-old male Heeler mix who was picked up by Animal Control in Union Gap. Sadly, no owner ever came forward for him, but he’s now on the road to a brighter future. When Mark first arrived, he was dealing with a painful abscess on his leg. Thanks to the care and treatment from our YHS clinic staff, he’s feeling much better and more comfortable now. The adoption center environment has been a bit overwhelming for him, and Mark can be unsure of what’s expected in such a busy setting. He’s quiet in his kennel and does best when handled slowly and calmly, as too much excitement can make him feel scared.Mark will thrive in a quiet, patient home that can help him feel safe, secure, and loved as he continues to build confidence. A fenced yard is a must, as we want Mark to be able to relax and feel secure while he settles in with his forever family. With time, understanding, and gentle care, Mark has the potential to be a deeply loyal and loving companion. This pet is available for adoption on 12/29/2025 11:04 AM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. Whatever his mystery heritage is, it gifted him a gaze you won’t forget.Adam came to us through Yakima City Animal Control and has been a calm, somewhat unsure boy during his time at the adoption center. He tends to stick close to his handlers, clearly seeking comfort and security from the people he trusts. He may not be the flashiest or most outgoing pup on the block, but what Adam does shine in is loyalty. With patience, reassurance, and a loving home, this gentle boy is sure to become a devoted and steady companion. If you`re looking for a dog who will stay by your side and appreciate every bit of kindness you show him, Adam is ready to meet you. This pet is available for adoption on 12/8/2025 11:30 AM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center.
