My given name from my foster mom is exactly who I am. Asta... this name means "divine strength", "love", and "star-like". I was abandoned by my first family on the side of the highway for a few months with my sister Kinsley. She was my protector during that time. I was terribly traumatized by being abandoned. Today I'm a shining star with beautiful grey eyes that match my coat. I like to play and go on backyard adventures with my sister and dog foster family. I like everyone and get along with other dogs and I'm a bit submissive and respectful towards everyone. I have beautiful pleading grey eyes that draw attention and make most ppl say awwwww and have a low key nature about me. We love each other very much and want to stay together for life! Please find it in your heart to adopt us together! Maxine is a great dog with a wonderful personality and temperament. On top of this she gave birth and raised a whole litter of puppies, talk about a saint! Maxine is athletic and young at soul girl. Indy quickly becomes everyone’s favorite Dobie due to his agreeable nature and persistence to live life to its fullest. He spends time lounging on his orthopedic dog bed between meals, barking if breakfast is late -then barks to announce its time to check the yard and stretch our legs. Happy to sunbath and monitor the other dogs, a peacemaker - he will bark to tattle on the dogs not playing nice. He has some white hairs and scars around his face, skin tags and one unruly ear crop - he is neutered, Heartworm treated and on prevention. Required treatment for skin and respiratory infections at intake. His blue coat is still growing back. He showed signs of neglect and had been abandoned as just a skeleton of a dog. Given a clean bill of health - he is adoptable (approximately 6 years old). He is on joint supplements and encouraged to continue to exercise to regain muscle. FOSTERED IN TEXAS *Adoption Fee includes fee on transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Canadian Adopters must meet transport in Bellingham, Washington. Story
Chandler lived with a young family in an apartment (purchased from a breeder) until he was 'too big' and surrendered to a shelter. He was poorly socialized and was not used to strangers and never had dog friends. He was significantly underweight at 54 lbs and barked at strangers. The shelter staff knew the best way to find the 'right' family for their 'Silly Goose' would be through Rescue. Chandler Goose weighed in at 70 lbs during his rescue intake and was still noticeably underweight with poor muscle tone. He is tall and at 2 years old, will not get any bigger - which is fine since he is above the breed standard of a Doberman and fitting in the category of a Warlock or King size bred Doberman. He has been slow introduced to other dogs and thriving in group play. He does well with other doberman males and females; he wants to play and smell, following the lead of other dogs. He is very vocal, whining and barking when he wants attention. He was kenneled at the shelter for months, so he is reluctant to crate at his foster home. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed, couch or the floor. Chandler is being trained with boundaries (baby gates) and does not push open doors or push past people. He knows sit and is easy to walk on a leash. He barks at people and things at a distance but does not show aggression. He will need a family accepting of his initial anxiety - he barks at new things and people (which is unnerving since he's huge) but will give kisses by the 2nd date or meeting, give 48 hours in a new home before he understands. He is working on house training and socializing. He functions with a puppy brain but is very trainable and eager to please. Vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms and on prevention, microchipped, neutered. Fostered in Texas. *Adoption Fee includes XL crate fee on transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners.
