Story
Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Columbus, Akron, or Cincinnati Ohio. Rooster resides with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please email kathy@houstonshaggydogrescue.org if you are interested in adopting this good boy. You may also find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/houstonshaggydogrescue

Story
We really outdid ourselves with originality in naming Cattle Dog, or “Cattle D” for not much shorter. Cattle Dog has all the energy and big personality you would expect from a Cattle Dog—he will patrol your yard to protect it from both squirrels and ghosts, but when not under attack from these nefarious villains, he loves to play with his friends and loves giving kisses and hugs and getting attention from his people. He’s a fantastic dog and just the best boy. A physically fenced yard is required. Cattle Dog is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. Story
DobbieMaleAge: 2.5 YearsWeight: 48 lbsBreed: Australian Cattle Dog, Australian Shepherd MixRequirements: Herding or Working Breed Experience Hi, I’m Dobbie! I am an energetic, cuddly & curious boy, who gets along great with other dogs. I am still learning what a cat is and that they usually don’t want to play with me, but my foster family thinks long term I’ll be a great cat sibling! I am quite excitable so would do best in a home without young kids. I am house & crate trained. I love learning new things and have mastered all the basics like walking on a leash, basic commands (sit, stay, down, come, wait, okay, no) and can even “place. I would love an adopter who can continue learning and growing with me and challenging me to be my best self. Being a young Cattle Dog mix, I will require an active adopter who is experienced with herding or working breeds and will ensure I am getting the mental stimulation & physical exercise I need but also knows when I need some chill time to continue being a happy boy. I would love a fenced in back yard for games of fetch and to chase squirrels, although this is not required.I am a bit unsure of new situations and places which means I will require a patient adopter who is willing to work on socializing me long term. In my free time I love to PLAY, be outdoors, cuddle, and be as close to my humans and fur siblings as physically possible. I also REALLY love to give kisses.  I can’t wait to have an adopter all my own who will provide me all the love and the active lifestyle I deserve! If you are interested in meeting Dobbie, apply to adopt at: www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $350. Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 10 years old or older. ##1385204##
