Story
Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Columbus, Akron, or Cincinnati Ohio. Rooster resides with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please email kathy@houstonshaggydogrescue.org if you are interested in adopting this good boy. You may also find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/houstonshaggydogrescue

Story
Mochi is a Great Pyrenees/Australian Cattle dog mix (based on DNA test for one of her siblings). Mom was a pure-breed Australian Cattle dog. Mochi is going on 2 years of age and weighs around 45 pounds. But she is tall and slim with long legs. Mochi was born at our rescue, was adopted, and has just been returned. We can find nothing wrong with this sweet girl. She is housetrained and crate-trained, obeys commands (sit, come, no), walks well on a leash, and is very well-mannered in the house (only one counter-surfing incident so far). Most of the hard work is done with this one. As with all dogs, her adoptive family must be the pack leaders. Mochi will benefit from continued training and socialization. She is good with children as her previous family had children and two other dogs. Mochi is active. We have many other dogs here at the rescue and she gets along with all of them. She loves other dogs and always wants to play. She is very submissive and rolls over on her back. Understandably, she was scared and confused about the trip back to Texas. But she adjusted quickly. She is food-motivated. Mochi is a very wonderful dog and deserves a fabulous forever home. She must be in the house as a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and would like a fenced yard to run and play. Mochi is spayed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Lyme, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is heartworm-negative and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. She is located in Texas but can be transported after she is adopted. Mocha's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to several scheduled stops in Ohio - including but not limited to - Columbus, Cincinnati, and Akron OH. Story
We really outdid ourselves with originality in naming Cattle Dog, or “Cattle D” for not much shorter. Cattle Dog has all the energy and big personality you would expect from a Cattle Dog—he will patrol your yard to protect it from both squirrels and ghosts, but when not under attack from these nefarious villains, he loves to play with his friends and loves giving kisses and hugs and getting attention from his people. He’s a fantastic dog and just the best boy. A physically fenced yard is required. Cattle Dog is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio.
