Story
**COURTESY POST** Meet August, or **Augie** for short! This sweet boy was found after being shot with a BB gun, but that didn’t stop him from being loving and happy. He’s great with other dogs, kids, and even cats. He was originally named Billy at the shelter, but he was renamed Augie because of a unique marking on his back that looks like the number eight! He was relisted to be euthanized the same day he was rescued and fostered. Now, he’s getting a second chance at life! Augie is a 3-month-old Red Heeler mix, and when fully grown, he should weigh around 50 pounds. He’s a true gentleman and will make a beautiful addition to any family. He’s a very smart puppy—he already knows how to sit, give his paws, and follow commands. He’s also potty trained and prefers to go in the same spot each time. His memory is excellent! He’s super playful, loves his toys, and even enjoys playing with ice cubes. While he’s great with little kids, he would especially thrive in a family with teenage kids because of his active and playful nature. He works well with other dogs and cats, making him the perfect companion for a multi-pet household. He’s still just a puppy and can be a little nervous when going through doors, but with some socialization and patience, he’s sure to grow out of it. Augie is such a sweet boy and deserves a second chance with a loving forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal and loving pup to add to your family, Augie might just be the perfect fit! Helloooooooo my name is ROOTBEER and I am looking for a loving home! I am a super cute and sweet red and tan 5 month old male Dobie/Lab mix and I LOVE other dogs and kids too! Someone got me and didn't want me anymore and dumped me to run loose and I was found by a kind person who took care of me until they could find a rescue to help me. I was SO SKINNY and covered in fleas and not feeling too good so this rescue covered all of my vet visits and made sure I got all of my shots and all that jazz. I love to play, and house and crate trained, know some commands and love to go on walkies and cuddle with a human person. The best home for me would be with someone who is active and who will show me the ropes of this thing called Life! Do think I'm the one for YOU?
