Story
To apply or learn more about Isco, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2023/11/2/isco Indigo is a 4 yr neutered cattle dog whippet mix (best guess) in need of a special home! Adopted as a puppy through HFP back in 2020, Indigo is looking for a quiet, calm adult home as your one and only! ✅ no separation anxiety ✅ housetrained, crate trained ✅ wonderful base of basic training ✅ smart & trainable ✅ cutest submissive grin/wiggle butt when you come home ✅ moderate activity (relaxed inside but loves to fetch and play!) ✅ doing much better at car travel He was adopted as a 4 month old puppy through HFP but sadly returned 3 years later -- he is currently in a Sacramento Foster home but is really in need of a home of his very own as his foster cannot keep him forever. More about Isco: he has a great base of training and ready to impress you with all his cues, including: Sit, Wait/Stay, Bed, Crate, Down and Off. He walks well on leash and doesn’t pull a ton. He LOVES to sniff everything during his walkies aka Sniffaris ( but doesn’t stop to mark, only sniff). He would do best in a quieter neighborhood as very busy places can make him nervous. Moderate energy -- he loves playing fetch in the backyard and a long daily walk would be ideal for Isco. In the home he is relaxed and independent. He has lived with 2 small dogs in the past and may be able to make dog acquaintances with slow intros but does not have a ton of experience with other dogs at this time. He would do best as prince of the palace as a solo dog in the home. Indigo previously lived with a cat who he loved to play with but can chase other cats, he may do well in a home with a well-matched cat friends; we ALWAYS recommend slow intros into the home/early separation for cats/dogs as they get to know one another. Indigo has the CUTEST prance and loves to play fetch. He is treat motivated which makes continued training and intros to people much more of a breeze. Housetrained, Crate Trained, around 55 lbs. Neutered, Vaccinated, Vetted, ready to be yours! Indigo adoption donation is sponsored. You might be wondering what “sponsored” means. A dog is sponsored when their foster or a donor loves them so much that they cover the adoption donation for a future adopter. This in hopes that the pup finds his or her forever family ASAP!

Story
To learn more about Mandarin and Hearts for Paws, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2024/2/16/mandarin Mandarin has been lovingly hand-raised in foster care since he was 6 weeks old. He currently lives with both dogs and cats. Mandarin is also housetrained, knows how to use a doggy door and is fine left alone for 3-4 hour intervals. He can take a few minutes to warm up to new people, and has done well with respectful kids. He has received professional training through Saturn Dog Training in Sacramento in preparation for his forever. The ideal home will be ready to commit to 10-15 years of dog ownership; a backyard would be most ideal as he has grown up with one. He may do well with another dog in the home, good with cats, but could also be a solo dog to the right applicants. We would recommend a home with kids 8-10+. DOB: 11/21/23 Neutered Doberman, Shepherd, Mixed Breed estimated 60-70 lbs full grown $250 adoption donation - vetted, up to date on age appropriate shots, dewormed, fecal tested/treated, flea tick treated & available w spay agreement addendum by/before 6 months. They are all microchipped with lifetime registry. Ideal home will: Have the time to commit to all things puppy! Please note puppies do not do well left alone long hours. Long work schedule where the puppy would be left alone for 7+ hours can be difficult on most puppies and young dogs. Solid plans for puppy socialization, positive exposure and continued training + relationship building -- commitment not just to puppyhood but to a lifetime of love, care, companionship and vetting. HFP advocates for Positive Reinforcement only for young puppies and training that focuses less on "obedience" and more on confidence building, relationship building and consent training. Preference to homes w/ friendly & well-trained dog role models (preference, NOT required) Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! *Courtesy Post for Solano Shelter* Meet Roscoe! Roscoe is neutered and vaccinated; he is estimated about 2 years old and is currently at Solano County shelter adoption floor but the shelter is impacted like many across the state. Shelter ID: A295868 If you would like to foster or foster to adopt through our program please contact us: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/fosterapplication Email coordinators@heartsforpawsrescue.com or info@heartsforpawsrescue.com The dogs posted have tested well with dogs and have exhibited affiliative behaviors/done well with new people. Please keep in mind we always recommend slowly introducing animals in the home and taking proper precautions to feed separately, and if needed be able to have a safe, separate space. Since they are in the shelter still, we do not always know or are able to know if they are good with cats. Since they are kenneled 23.5-24 hours a day we can not guarantee they are housetrained; please keep in mind even housetrained dogs may have accidents as they adjust to a new home and schedule.
