Story
Meet Hank! Like most hounds, Hank loves to explore. He enjoys long walks and playing in our play yard. Hank loves rope toys and a good game of tug-of-war! Hank is pretty laid back and he enjoys cuddling, though some may think he is too big to cuddle. (We don't think so!) It just means there's more Hank to love! He loves getting pets, especially ear rubs. Hank appears to be dog-friendly. So, if you are looking for a loyal best friend consider putting in an adoption application for our gentle giant, Hank.Weight: 108 Primary Color: Red Age: 3yrs 1mths 1wks

Story
Meet Joy! We were able to save Joy from the euthanasia list a few months ago thanks to an amazing foster for stepping up for her. Joy is around 70lb, 2 years old, has completed heartworm treatment and is ready for adoption! Here is what Joy’s foster has to say about her: “Joy is the sweetest doggy. When she first came to us she was very shy. She has come out of her shell and now shows much more confidence. For the most part, Joy is very dog friendly (we just ask for slow intros.) She loves to play with all size dogs. Joy is crate trained, but while we are gone she stays in my daughter’s room and free roams. She is potty trained and has not had one accident inside the house. Joy is very food motivated so please be careful with your counters because she will counter surf. She is great on the leash and enjoys walks in the park! She loves to sit outside and look out for squirrels…it is so funny! Joy is pure love and such a peaceful dog. If the resident doggy is low energy then she will be low energy and if the resident doggy is high energy then she will be high energy, she adapts. Joy will bring you exactly what you need in life, Joy.”

Story
Here's what my friends at the shelter have to say about me! "This sweet girl was found roaming the streets with her brother. When I met her in the shelter she is as sweet as it comes! She is way tinier than she looks. She's petitie little brindle girl. She was so excited to get out and go on a walk. She was friendly with ALL people. She jumped right in my lap for some snuggles also. She met other dogs thru the fence and did great and had a very happy and wagging tail. In the run, she was whining/crying some but I think the shelter environment is stressful and she is missing her brother."

Story
adoption donation : $650 weight 40 lbs  Age: 9 months as of 12/20       Nacho is an absolute love bug, he doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body, he is all tail wags, and kisses and wiggles!    Nacho was found abandoned with his sister in a rural part of Mississippi when he was a young puppy, he was taken into the rescue quickly settled in, he love to run and play with the other dogs and snuggle up with his sister and a puppy pile to nap. A few months ago nacho was sent to the northeast and adopted by a single man who adores Nacho but whose work schedule has changed and now he is gone for long hours and feels Nacho is alone too much.     Ideally, we would a home for Nacho with another dog to play with, he absolutely adores every dog he’s ever met and would make a fabulous companion. If not, nacho would really love an owner who was around a lot, who would take him on walks and hikes or just spending time together, Nacho  just loves to be with his person.      Nacho is just a silly, funny, goofy and loving boy. He could use a little training, he does get excited and still jumps up a bit, but he is a smart boy and extremely food motivated, he would be easy to train. Nacho is the ultimate family dog, he would absolutely love to be in a home with children he can give sloppy kisses to.     Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use.
