Story
Dawson is a social butterfly, affection sponge of a senior dog. Sadly, his owner passed away in a house fire in Oklahoma and he waited over a year in rescue there. Dawson traveled out to Oregon for the chance of a happy retirement home in his golden years. Dawson used to the be the "town dog" during his past life in Oklahoma. He would walk the child in his home to school then go to the local Ace Hardware store to hang out for the day, greeting all who came to the store. Then after school was out he would walk his kiddo home. Getting to meet people is Dawson's very favorite thing and he will typically flop over for a belly rub. - Approximately 8 years old and 79 pounds but needs to shed a few - We aren't sure of his breed mix but he has these endearing, droopy eyes so we think perhaps Bloodhound/Boxer - LOVES gentle kids and immediately wants to interact and be loved on - Friendly with all people - Fostered with cats and is very polite and doesn't bother them at all - Good with other dogs large and small alike. Has been fostered with a variety of dogs without issue. - Does good with his potty habits - Calm, lazy guy who really enjoys his daily mile walk around the neighborhood - Crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night - No leash reactivity or separation anxiety noted - Reluctant to load into the car but once he's in he lies down and rides nicely Very loving, tender-hearted dog who deserves a cushy and loving home for this last half of his life. He would make a wonderful dog for a first time dog owner. Dawson is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, dewormed, microchipped and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee also includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner vet clinics in Oregon City, Portland, Milwaukie or Tualatin. $150 adoption fee Fostered in Wilsonville, Oregon APPLY TO ADOPT DAWSON ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
Bowzer is a good boy. He is just super anxious because of our situation and that is what I am trying to fix. Our schedules/lives have changed drastically since we first brought him home and we are no longer in a position where we can give him what he needs. He has never bitten, good with kids but does have a tendency to jump up when excited so I would say older kids best. Not fixed, is house trained, kennel trained (would include his large dog kennel, big enough he can stand up and move around in, breaks down for transport/storage) up to date on shots/flea meds. He loves to explore/walk and prefers a REAL long leash to follow his nose. He needs someone who can walk him or take him on adventures on the regular. As long as he gets worked, he will just crap out by the fire at the end of the day.
