Story
Barnaby is one of our longest residents. He has been patiently waiting for the right family to find him and give him the life he deserves. This floppy-eared boy has captured our hearts and our entire team has been obsessed with him since the day he arrived. He is looking for a home without children or other pets so he can soak up all of your love and attention. Barnaby was born on 7/17/22 and is an extremely handsome Bloodhound mix. His ideal adopter would have experience with his breed or other large breeds to ensure a smooth transition where he would thrive from the guidance his new family could provide. Spending another day in a kennel isn’t the life he was meant for. It breaks our hearts to see him wait, especially after spending his second birthday in a cage. He is up to date on vaccinations and ben neutered. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will always be by your side, Barnaby is the guy. Please consider giving him a chance if you meet his forever home requirements and officially making him a part of your family—he’s been waiting far too long!  *PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO STRINGENT OUT OF STATE HEALTH CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS WE ARE NOW ONLY ADOPTING TO RHODE ISLAND RESIDENTS*. We apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, due to past issues with landlords/housing/insurance, a restricted breed policy is in place for Bully breed/Pit Bull type dogs. This means that you must own your home and provide proof of homeownership to adopt a Bully breed/Pit Bull dog or puppy. While we understand that this may be an inconvenience, it is necessary to help reduce the number of devastated dogs being returned. We apologize for the inconvenience. HOW TO GO ABOUT ADOPTING: 1. Come in during adoption hours to apply and full out an application completely. We have applications on site. Open adoption hours take place at 44 Worthington Road in Cranston, RI. We are open every Wednesday 3-7pm and Saturday 10am-2pm. 2. We require proof of homeownership (tax form, deed, mortgage statement) or landlord approval (a copy of your lease that clearly states you are allowed to have a dog, puppy, cat, or kitten OR written and signed consent from your landlord. 3. We require copies of up to date vet records for any current pets. Helpful reminders: *We do not do same day adoptions. *Please bring the entire family in to meet the animal you are interested in. *We will setup a meet and greet with your dog at a later date. PLEASE do not bring your dog with you when you come in to apply.
