Story
We are OBSESSED with Barnaby's new headshot. If this doesn't get him adopted, we don't know what will. Our velvet eared hunk can't wait to meet his new family. He is another VERY long term resident that is patiently waiting in a cage. He is a handsome, 2 year old, male, Bloodhound mixed breed. Barnaby Jones is the face of resilience and we REALLY need your help finding him a forever home. Barnaby requires a dog savvy family with experience. He is good with other dogs (pending a successful meet and greet) but would prefer a home without cats. His ideal home would not have children under 12 (he's a big guy and we don't want him knocking your kids over when he runs in slow motion like a Bay Watch actor). He is up to date on vaccinations and has been neutered. Photo 1: Traer Scott Photography *PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO STRINGENT OUT OF STATE HEALTH CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS WE ARE NOW ONLY ADOPTING TO RHODE ISLAND RESIDENTS*. We apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, due to past issues with landlords/housing/insurance, a restricted breed policy is in place for Bully breed/Pit Bull type dogs. This means that you must own your home and provide proof of homeownership to adopt a Bully breed/Pit Bull dog or puppy. While we understand that this may be an inconvenience, it is necessary to help reduce the number of devastated dogs being returned. We apologize for the inconvenience. HOW TO GO ABOUT ADOPTING: 1. Come in during adoption hours to apply and full out an application completely. We have applications on site. Open adoption hours take place at 44 Worthington Road in Cranston, RI. We are open every Wednesday 3-7pm and Saturday 10am-2pm. 2. We require proof of homeownership (tax form, deed, mortgage statement) or landlord approval (a copy of your lease that clearly states you are allowed to have a dog, puppy, cat, or kitten OR written and signed consent from your landlord. 3. We require copies of up to date vet records for any current pets. Helpful reminders: *We do not do same day adoptions. *Please bring the entire family in to meet the animal you are interested in. *We will setup a meet and greet with your dog at a later date. PLEASE do not bring your dog with you when you come in to apply.
