Story
I adopted Addie from a stressed, young family. Addie is a work dog - highly athletic. She would love to have a country setting where she could roam, though with a loving family. She is full of love and kisses. She is 4 years old and was adopted as a puppy in Colorado - though probably from the South. Addie loves to play and gets over excited at times with other dogs. She has a very good friend who is a setter and she has never hurt him. Addie's an alpha. Anyone who knows dogs would be able to see her qualities. She is a beautiful dog and is presently in a loving home. The home is a high rise condo and is not adequate for her needs. I will keep her if I can't find her a wonderful situation. If you want a wonderful dog and have land, here's your girl! She is fairly easy to train - she comes to me most times unless she is in the process of chasing a squirrel. Definitely housebroken and lets you know. Any other questions, just let me know. Thank you!

Story
Meet Runner! This sweet girl got her name from following her finder home on a run! She probably knew she’d found someone who would help her. She’s a little nervous, but it’s only her first day at the rescue. Her finder had her for a month and fully house trained her, and she knows her manners. Runner is about 2 years old and weighs 42 pounds. She looks like a Black Mouth Cur mix, but she has a fluffy tail and some interesting coloring on her legs. She walks well on a leash, and is learning that the world is a fun place to explore when you have a safe, warm home and regular food every day! She’s good with other dogs and people, and would love to keep building her confidence. We’ll update as we learn more about her!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.November 4, 2024, 11:33 am

Story
This boy was a rescue from Georgia. He is very playful boy that is full of energy!! He is a go go go sort of boy that will need an active family to keep up with him. He is with a group of pups his size and age so he does very well. He is friendly, knows his name and we think was house trained at some point. He does okay on a leash and knows how to sit for treats. He is just a friendly, happy and playful pup looking for a new forever home. Milo is now in Tennessee and can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //
