Story
Wall-E was brought into a North Carolina animal control as a stray who was not claimed. This poor little guy was not doing well in the shelter environment and was shutting down. Since the shelter was at capacity, he was scheduled for euthanasia if a rescue partner could not be found. So we stepped in and Wall-E is now in foster care. Wall-E has been coming out of his shell in foster care and we are starting to see his personality peeping out now and then! He is likely less than a year old, and is looking to his foster brother and sister for cues in how to deal with the world around him. As we learn more about Wall-E, we will update his profile. For now, he is a scared baby who is trying to figure out what is happening to him and who he can trust. If you would like to meet Wall-E, please fill out our adoption application!

Story
I adopted Maggie when I lived in a home with large back yard. As a single father, I had to move immediately move to a condo and deal with my small children simultaneously. Maggie did not adjust well to the move, but I cannot give her the attention and time she deserves. My job’s demands and children prevent me from assisting her needs. A loving dog, but still a puppy with lots of energy and adventurous spirit. Loves to snuggle on the couch. Upon adoption, I will provide a crate, food dish, toys and any food for free.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/genericYou can learn about the adoption process by visiting:  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:  Baby Finnigan (FIN1024ALAMD)Estimated Breed:  Black Mouth Cur mix Approximate Age: 3 months Approximate Weight:  12 LBS  Currently Living at:  Foster  Adoption Fee:  $500DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Meet Baby Finnegan! Finnegan came to us from an overcrowded shelter in Alabama along with his sister, Baby Maisey. This poor baby had been at the shelter there for over a month! It is heartbreaking that a sweet and curious little puppy had to grow up in a cage. But things are looking up for Finnegan. He has been rescued by K-9 Lifesavers and landed himself a nice foster home. Finnegan is desperately looking for his forever people now. Could that be you? He is a little shy but very sweet. Finnegan loves other dogs. He will grow to be a wonderful companion for many years to come. At Finnegan's young age, he is in his prime for training and socialization too. Please remember that young pups require lots of time, love, and patience to become the best doggie citizens they can be. Submit an application today and change this very deserving boy's life forever! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/.
