Story
This sweet boy can go from a seemingly shy boy to the smiliest lover with just the sound of sweet talk! It was amazing to see him light up when we started talking sweet, he understands that it’s directed at him and it means he is loved and appreciated. Hunter Smalls… because what he hunts for is small- a sweet talking someone of his very own. https://youtu.be/uHWPUY4MnMg?feature=shared At an estimated 2 years old, Hunter has a calm demeanor that typically only comes with age. He is a petite 39 lbs of calm, dog-friendly, cat-tolerant, peaceful companionship. Aside from the power sweet talk has over him, my favorite thing about Hunter is his contentedness. Whether its out in the yard or in the living room, he is happy to share space with in your company. You don’t need to entertain him and he won’t be pestering you for endless games of catch. This gentle soul can be a touch shy at first, but once he senses your warmth and the sweet talk begins, he opens up to show you his loving nature. With his calm demeanor and quiet disposition, Hunter is going to be a wonderful companion to you and other dogs at home. He is a gentleman in the company of other dogs, showing a playful side while maintaining his cool even when other dogs get a bit pushy.. A home with a calm, friendly companion would be a dream! In rescue we cannot know age or breed with any guarantee but believe he may be a black mouth cur mix. Thanks to his size and incredibly calm and content nature, Hunter has potential to be an apartment boy but he would love a cozy home with a little yard to explore and occasionally nap in. His light-up face and gentle soul promises to keep your life charmed and full of love! His charm and loyalty are going to feel like such a gift! Adopt Hunter and know the depth of rescue love waiting in him! If you have any questions about Hunter or would like us to test him in a specific setting or for a particular detail, please reach out! We are committed to making sure he is the perfect fit for you and your lifestyle, and we can accommodate most requests to make that happen. Please email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Story
Fostered in Portland OR!! This cutie is Astrid Rosenberg. He is currently 3 months old, and we think he may be a Black Mouth Cur, GSD mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Fall in love with Astrid here: https://youtu.be/5Kqi3XBAADg?si=lv2m2ODiQ4cwELWU Astrid is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. He loves to play with his foster siblings and take lots of naps. He loves people so much and will crawl in your lap for attention and love. Astrid is a toy lover too! Eat, sleep, play, repeat - such is puppy life! Astrid is still young so he will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. His new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Story
**Fostered in Hillsboro, OR and ready for meet and greets!** The softest, downy-like fur, and never-ending cuddles, are what you will get if you adopt Aksel. This smart boy is extremely loving and sweet, very smart, and sure to make an excellent pack or family member. At just 3 months old, this black-masked cutie weighs about 15 lbs. We think he may be a Malinois or GSD mix, but with rescue it's always a guess. Right now he's the perfect age and size to cuddle in your lap while you work (one of his favorite things to do) or watch movies. He is a A+ napper and snuggler! Fall in love here: https://youtu.be/JMgszJculac?feature=shared Aksel LOVES all people and is a social butterfly. He has been socialized well around all kinds of people, including young kids. He is currently living in a foster home with a 14yo and a 4yo kid, and he adores them both. He does still jump up for attention so will need to work on those manners. He adores other dogs and happily shares his toys with his doggy friends. He will even cuddle up with his foster doggy siblings at nap time. He plays respectfully with the other dogs and isn't a pest to them, but can get rough and rowdy, and vocal, when he plays. He hasn't lived with cats before, but he's young enough to learn. He loves all kinds of toys, especially stuffed toys and squeaky toys. They will keep him busy! Aksel is very food motivated and smart, but needs to work a little on his ability to wait. He listens well though and stops when you tell him no if he's doing something he shouldn't. He sleeps quietly in his crate at night and settles after just a few minutes of whining. Potty training is still ongoing but he's making great progress. He will need to go out every hour during the day and a couple times at night, until he gets the full hang of it. Aksel will do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can run and play daily. He can be vocal at times, so an apartment won't be the right fit for him. He would do great as part of a pack, or as an only pup, and he'd be happy living with kids too. He will do best in a home where someone will be home a lot, at least at first, while he gets settled with potty training and learning his basic commands and manners. Aksel is still young so he will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. His new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Don't hesitate to apply, he won't be available for long. A dog this smart, confident, social, and snuggly will get scooped up fast! Story
Calvin seeks Hobbes for the fun-loving good life. He is charmingly friendly, perfectly affectionate, and a quintessential good-boy with a love for tennis balls and bodies of water. Calvin has yet to meet a person who isn’t enamored with him. He greets new friends with so much warmth its easy to understand why. His adoring personality shines through those big brown eyes of his when he sits at your feet to say hello. He is giving 100% attention and open-heart and it is undeniable. If he isn’t at your feet in a perfect sit, he has rolled over for a belly rub, all the while his tail is wagging in double time. This is a boy who doesn’t know a stranger and likely never will. That same friendly nature can be seen when he is introduced to new dogs. His manners and social skills with other dogs is impressive, he is playful while remaining respectful and knowing when to take a break. One way to say it is that he matches energy really well! He is going to be make an amazing play-mate if you are looking for both an amazing family dog and a dream k-9 companion for your current dog. If your dog happens to love the water, then this boy might be the perfect match because Calvin does too! He is the cutest in a little dog pool, I can only imagine the overload of cuteness when he gets to experience the ocean or a lake! You will get to be front row for that if you choose to adopt Calvin! Given his age and that he is a rescue, it is safe to say, you will be there for his first of many new experiences and I know it is going to be overwhelmingly good! Calvin is est. to be 1 year old, weighs 44 lbs and is possibly a Black Mouth Curr/ Pittie mix, but of course, he is a rescue pup and we cannot guarantee age of breed makeup. The best part about his size is we believe he is fully grown at this perfect small/medium size. As a testament to his size, he is easy to pick up and the best part is, no wiggling or fussing here! In Calvin’s get-to-know him video it is mentioned that a kitty-free home would be best for him. This is not an exclusive no-cats, he may be a little curious about cats, he is not overly reactive, but may try to play with a cat. If you have a cat you know them well enough to decide if that is a fitting match. We believe it is possible with proper introductions and a dog-savvy cat, he could fit well into a home with feline friends Calvin’s dream home, based on what we know of him, would be one with a playful dog for companionship. A house, apartment, or townhouse are all great! If a yard for general romping and running is available that is great but walks and play sessions will serve him just as well. He enjoys the outdoors but he is so easy-going that he will fit in any living situation with ease- as long as the love is flowing, the adventures are regular, and toys are present. Whether he’s hanging out with you on the couch, splashing in the water, or making new friends Calvin infectious joy will make a good life even better and brighter. If you think Calvin is the one, don’t wait to apply— he will not be available for long and you do not want to miss a boy this perfect or all the fun y’all could have ahead of you. Questions? Story
Do you ever have those moments where you’re relaxing on the couch watching a movie, you're out in your backyard grilling or you're just doing house chores and think “man, it would be really nice to have a buddy to share this with.” Well look no further because Sheldon Cooper is just your guy!! Sheldon wants to kick back and enjoy the simple things in life with his favorite person right by his side. One of the cutest and sweetest things about Sheldon is the way he looks at you. He has the sweetest most soulful eyes you’ve probably ever seen. He peers into your soul making you feel like you’re the most important person in the world. There’s something about a dog’s ability to make someone feel that special that you just can’t describe in words. It’s a feeling that only the lucky few ever get to experience. He is your soul. There is no doubt about it. The bond with Sheldon goes so much deeper than you can even imagine. He’ll capture your heart, just watch his video and you’ll see: https://youtu.be/SNN0-MI7f7s?si=tLz_pAYVwLw2Wy1T Sheldon really does teach you how to slow down in life and to really appreciate everything around you. He loves laying out in the backyard, belly up and just soaking it all in like there’s no care in the world. He’s just a sweet and cuddly homebody that thrives in a slower paced environment with people that have the exact same mindset as he does. He loves a good snuggle and can be very affectionate towards the person he bonds with. Strangers and young kids can be scary for Sheldon, so he needs slow introductions to be able to feel secure and comfortable with new people and prefers a home with no kids but once you’re in his corner, it’s game over! You’ll forever be his favorite person and you’ll gain the sweetest little shadow. The perfect homebody companion. He’s also more than just your regal gentleman, he has a goofy side too. One of the things that he does that we love so much is the way he trots with such sass when his favorite person calls him over. His little ears just start flopping around and he gets the biggest smile on his face. And man does he love to play with toys. Especially stuffy toys! He loves tossing them up in the air and catching them like he’s air bud from the movies. He also does the cutest little hops when he’s playing too. Sheldon knows how to entertain himself quietly with a chew toy chew or a stuffy. He can be relaxing on the couch with you by his side while you’re watching tv or even working from home and there will be Sheldon quietly chewing his toy entertaining himself. Sheldon is a black mouth cur mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 46 lbs and is full grown. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Sheldon is extremely dog friendly and is so great with other dogs that he’s even occasionally used as an assessment dog here at the rescue. This means that Sheldon welcomes our new intake dogs, and teaches them that the rescue is a fun and safe place to be, while showing us bits of their personality that are only apparent in dog-to-dog interactions. He would do great in a home with even multiple dogs in the home. He loves to play, has a gentle play style and knows when to take breaks as well. He is great at communicating with other dogs as well if the play becomes a little too much. He gives very appropriate corrections letting them know he needs a little break. Sheldon is in play groups everyday at the rescue with up to 10-15 dogs at a time all with different personalities and has the time of his life. Another great option for him would be doggy day care if you don’t have other dogs. He would love to be your only companion because to him that just means more affection and can be the center of attention, which he will absolutely love. So if you don’t have other dogs, want him to be able to socialize and to have some fun and if you work long hours, take him to doggy day care during the day. He does great in those settings and it helps him stay socialized with dogs and with people. We actually would prefer to see him attend doggy day care if you are a single person with no other dogs. As mentioned previously, new people can be a little scary for him, so when he is in a structured and routined environment it really helps his confidence. Even though he is very dog friendly and does great in big groups, including doggy day care, we don’t want to see him going to dog parks. There are too many unknown variables as well as too many strangers that would want to approach him and he doesn’t enjoy being approached by strangers. Sheldon would be best in a home with a backyard or even on some property where he can join you out on a nice day gardening, explore the land with you, and sunbathe out in the grass on a nice summer day. He also loves the water, so if you have a pool or a pond on your property, he would love that too. We see Sheldon being in a home with a homebody single person that either works from home or someone that will take him to doggy day care during the day if you work long hours. He's a goofy homebody introvert that just loves to be around his one person that doesn’t care to have a lot of visitors and is perfectly happy just being by themselves with their dog. He’s the perfect companion that will snuggle with you, be your little shadow and simply just enjoy the simple things in life with you. We are willing to test Sheldon Cooper with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there!
