Story
From her foster: She is amazing. I don’t know how someone dumped her, we’ve had many dogs and she is EASILY the most well behaved and kind pup. Sooo lovey and loves any form of cuddles. She hasn’t had any training, but she is house trained, and doesn’t mind kennels. She doesn’t chew on anything and she only barks or gets loud when she plays with the other dogs, but even then she’s quieter than ours now.

Story
As heartbreaking as it is for me to make this post unfortunately my puppy can no longer stay with us💔due to apartment issues and a busy schedule that has just started. We are very sad to let him go but want to assure he is with a good home and family, (please no shelters). He originally came from the Dallas Animal Shelter and has been a sweet loving 6 1/2 month old puppy, and actually one of the best behaved dogs I’ve seen come out from a shelter! He is a mix breed, He loves to sit and watch everything going on, very observant, he loves playing with toys and his stuffed animals are his FAVORITE! He sleeps great throughout the night and loves being cuddled. He is currently all up to date on all shots, microchipped and neutered. I have all his paper work for him, along with a bunch of his stuff since he’s been spoiled. If anyone is willing to rehome him it would mean the world!!

Story
Maybelline would be out of business if women had naturally gorgeous eyes like this. This is Maverick a two-year-old 67 pound Boxer/Black Mouth Cur mix. He was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 10/17. The reason stated is that the owners were moving! It may be for the best though, because the previous owner stated, and it’s obvious, that he was an outdoor dog. He has concrete calluses on his elbows and his rear, fly bites on his ears, and his ribs are showing. Dogs are social creatures, and Maverick is no exception. He loves people and wants to be close to his special people. He sits for treats and takes them gently. His sense of smell is very important to him and he kept his nose to the ground to investigate. He was very patient while I put a scarf on him. He gives lots of kisses. The surrender form said that he was not raised with dogs or cats, but was friendly with dogs. He introduced himself to many dogs going through the bay. He was raised with children from toddlers on up. He was good with them. The surrender form stated that he is housebroken. He did his business as soon as he got out into the yard. Would you like to spend your whole life outside? Well, Maverick didn’t either. He’s looking forward to being an inside dog. This is one great dog! He would love to have well-behaved children to love on!

Story
This majestic, handsome boy with golden chestnut coloring is appropriately called Chestnut. I’m just trying to get him out there now as a preview. I will follow up tomorrow. He is unsure, not able to trust, and skittish. He’s gradually, with the staff and volunteer help, been coming around. After spending time with him, he would come close to me and then run away. He flinches when you reach for him. I feel certain that by tomorrow he will be more relaxed, and I will be able to do a better evaluation. He did his business in the yard. He walks very well on a leash. It makes me sad to see a dog so fearful when he really wants to be loved on. I know he has great potential for being a very loving, loyal companion. Stay tuned….

Story
Fin is an adorably handsome little boy who loves to show affection once he gets to know you. At around 1.5 years old, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a Black Mouth Cur weighing 47 lbs, though he still needs to gain a bit more weight. Fin truly believes he's a lap dog, and his sweet nature will melt your heart. Fin was found in very poor condition outside a neighborâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s homeâ&#194&#128&#194&#148skin and bones, terrified of the world. Since then, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s made incredible progress. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been neutered, is up-to-date on his shots (as of November), and is now microchipped for added safety. Active and playful, Fin loves staying busy. His favorite hobbies include exploring his surroundings, going on walks, and playing with toys. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s also the perfect fitness buddyâ&#194&#128&#194&#148always up for an active day. Afterward, he settles down nicely and enjoys snuggling up on a comfy bed next to you. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s great with other dogs, playful, and loves to say hello. While we havenâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t observed him around children or cats, we recommend supervision with small children to ensure respectful interactions. Fin is still building his self-confidence and will benefit from further training. However, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s eager to learn, and weâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re excited to discuss the tools and strategies that will help him thrive. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a cuddle bug who adores belly rubs and will quickly show you his tummy for attention. While Fin would do well with a yard to explore, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll be happy as long as he gets the love and daily exercise he needs. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s housebroken, leash-trained, and currently working on crate training. Fin knows how to sit, but heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s still learning other commands. The best part is that heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a clean slate, ready to absorb new lessons with enthusiasm. The only reason Fin is being rehomed is due to my living situation with my roommates. When I found Fin, I made a commitment to help him find his forever home, and thatâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s why heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s being rehomedâ&#194&#128&#194&#148through no fault of his own. If you're ready for a lovable, cuddly best friend whoâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s eager to trust again, apply to adopt Fin today! Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s waiting for someone to give him the forever home he deserves. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Fin, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org.
