Meet Oshi! This delightful canine found herself as a stray with a mysterious past that left her ears and half of her tail missing. Though these physical scars may tell a tale of pain, her spirit remains unbroken. Playfulness is her middle name, and she has the natural ability to bring a smile to everyone's face. She also has a natural talent for agility! Whether tossing her toys, receiving belly rubs or simply enjoying your company, Ocean's happiness and loyalty know no bounds. Adopt her today!

Story
Sweet Lizzie ended up at our local veterinarian's office with a request to euthanize her. She was a healthy sweet girl, and we were immediately contacted. Lizzie is a cuddle bug, only wanting to be with you. She needs someone who is home most of the time as she gets upset when she cannot find her human. She is good with other dogs and would do well to have a playmate. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
www.pet-tender.com/adoptionform.htm   Lucky is about as sweet as they come.  She is shy with new people at first but warms up nicely and gets attached quickly.  She just wants to be with her person.  We think she could live with another dog...just has to be the right dog..she can be a little picky.  She is extremely playful at times but then just wants to cuddle at other times.  She is going to make a great companion for someone who just wants to hang with their pup.  She is a bit of an escape artist if left outside...but escapes to be with her person.   We have chosen Kuranda dog beds for our boarding facilities because they are so good for our dogs. We still don't have enough for all of our kennels. If you would like to donate a bed so another dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here. March 18, 2024, 12:23 am

CRATE TRAINED:  Does not do well in crate HOUSE TRAINED:  Yes GOOD IN CAR:  Yes FUN FACTS: Layla's favorite spot? The couch!! Layla is a very affectionate, loving girl who has been through a great deal - but she's come through shining! She had to have hip surgery upon entering rescue due to being hit by a car, but she's recovered nicely Layla is an adventurist, and she will bolt if given the chance (hence being hit by a car), so she needs someone experienced and dedicated to make sure she doesn't do this - this understanding and commitment is paramount. She will need a 6ft fence to be safe from potential escape, ALWAYS on a leash outside of the fence, and watched at doors. She loves to run and play, flashing her big smile when she's having fun. Layla is possessive of her toys, treats and food with other dogs, so while she's fine with medium to large dogs, this must be understood. She is a bossy female and isn't afraid to put them in their place should they try to take something that's hers. She's a princess who demands her authority. To people she's a dream. She loves to lay beside you and watch tv, go on long walks, and follow you around the house. She does, however, expect her food to be prepared and served ON TIME. That's the rule. Break that rule and you'll be called names. But you can save face by just giving her a kiss or rubbing her belly...her other 2 favorite things. Layla is house trained, doggy door trained, and rides well in the car. She's great at the vet, and is an overall superb gal...not to mention absolutely gorgeous. If you're looking for a buddy for walking, hiking, curling up with for your favorite movie or as your sidekick when you're out and about, Layla is the dog for you.   ##1466211##
