Story
Pacino is a sweet black mouth cur girl we rescued from a situation that would have claimed her life. She is resilient. She is a cuddler. Need to find a home where she can be the only pet. We have 4 other dogs and it’s too dangerous for us. She gets jealous easily. She is protective of her owner. She has high energy and high prey drive. She is a sporting/hunting breed. She would love to chase birds, squirrels, fish, cats etc. She loves kids. Could totally see her living her best life in the country or at least be able to have a nice size fenced in yard to run and leap like a gazelle in. Leash training is slow but better. She is a bit of a puller. When she pulls, we stop, sits then we move forward. She has gotten better. We love her but unfortunately we can’t keep fostering her.

Story
7 year old / 60 lb / Neutered Male / Black Mouth Cur MixUp-to-date with routine shots / Owner Surrendered / Obedience Trained / House and Crate Trained Frisbee or agility anyone??? Rusty is a playful, energetic pooch who is 7 years old and about 60 lb.! We think he looks like a black mouth cur, but who knows for sure. He's got a long tongue that was just made for giving lots of doggie kisses . He also absolutely loves to lounge in a doggie pool filled with ice! He also loves to jump so probably would be a natural for aerial frisbee and he's as smart as can be so would love agility training. His favorite thing to do is run, he would love to find someone who is active and has a big yard for running! Although he loves kids, he wouldn't be a good fit for young children, as he might accidentally knock them down in his enthusiasm.Rusty loves kids and adults but is protective of his home. When strangers come, he needs a place where he can go, away from the activity. He is SO sweet, smart, and funny. He deserves a great life and is looking for his forever home. Story
Rascal’s story is unusual but deserves to be told. He was surrendered to us after a fight broke out between the dogs in the home and Rascal was thought to be the instigator. His owner was panicking and wasn’t sure what to do because there was a child in the home and they wanted to be proactive. The humane society had a surrender waitlist, which was not an option, so they decided to surrender Rascal to the pound, knowing he would have to be labeled as “aggressive”, and euthanized, per protocol. However, Rascal has been tested time and time again with other dogs, strangers, volunteers, and anyone else who will give him the time of day and he has not shown any aggression, so he has been given the green light to be adopted. Rascal is playful and goofy and loves to be right by your side. He is obsessed with one of our volunteers and has shown that he forms very strong bonds with be people he loves. Upon meeting Rascal you’ll notice he makes an absurd amount of noise - grunting, snarling, huffing and puffing, but we truly think he’s just a quirky dog!
