Story
Hakuna Matata: "no worries"Timone is a beautiful 5 year old neutered male dog with a lovely caramel coat and a thin darker steak down his back like the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed. A canine DNA test has been submitted, so we should have a good idea of his breed(s) in a few weeks. He is in prime physical condition, takes treats with a gentle mouth, and has good manners which we are working on improving even more. Timone is an excellent walker on his leash; he doesn't pull and takes direction well. He has been friendly with all the people and most of the dogs he has met so far in the neighborhood. He is sometimes reactive to other dogs encountered while walking; he hasn't shown any reactivity to wild animals. Timone is house trained and crate trained. He loves to play with toys but is very rough with them, so only really tough toys will work for him. He respects boundaries and hasn't damaged anything in his foster house. He sleeps well in the bedroom with his foster dad, and stays in his crate calmly when left alone in the house. He enjoys going on adventures to local greenways and parks, and gets into and out of the car well but is a little nervous so far on car rides (pacing, but not panting). Timone has a very nice spirit. He does not bark much and doesn't seem interested in looking out the windows of the house (just the windows in the car), so he is a quiet companion. He is the only animal in his foster house, and has not been cat tested. He doesn't currently know any commands or tricks well, but seems to be both treat motivated and eager to please, so he should be able to learn. Timone's ideal permanent house would have owner(s) who are eager to go on long walks with him or who have a fenced in yard since he is in excellent shape with some energy to burn. His foster dad walks him 5+ miles a day, and he hasn't shown any signs of wanting less walking yet. During a really short jogging test he seemed like he could also be a good jogging partner. He may not do well with daily long stays in his crate (he may get bored or frustrated based on his behavior while confined to a kennel at the Wake County Animal Center). A household where someone works at home or otherwise stays at home most of the time would be perfect for him.During playgroups at the Animal Center, Timone performed like a silly wild bronco bucking around for fun. He was delighted to engage with another female and bounce around with her. He truly seemed to enjoy himself. His best match would be a tolerant, confident playful female.Timone is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, and is microchipped. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we always recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. If you'd like to meet Timone, please contact the Wake County Animal Center (and reference Timone #251219) so they can put you in touch with his foster dad. Story
Bosephus is a lovable, big-hearted boy with a sweet soul and an infectious personality. With his handsome looks, sharp sense of humor, and charm, he's hard to resist!Although he's still perfecting his leash manners, his natural hound instincts make him a pro at tracking and sniffing out the best scents. He can be a little stubborn when he’s following a trail, but he’s learning to stay on track.Bosephus is eager to please and quickly picked up commands like sit and shake thanks to his foster mom’s patient training. He’s her "work buddy" and joins her every day at the shop, where he knows how to chill on the job and greet customers with a wagging tail. Everyone loves Bo, and Bo loves everyone in return! He’s a social boy who enjoys the company of people and kids, but he’s a bit protective of his things (toys, food, and his bed), so he’s not one to share with other pups. While he does well in social settings with other dogs, he’d thrive best as the only dog in the household. His foster family is also working on curbing his excitement when meeting new people, especially when he’s tempted to jump up.Bosephus is food motivated, so he's working on refining his manners during mealtime, but he's making great progress! He’s fully house-trained and knows how to use a dog door. Plus, he’s learned to come when his leash is clicked five times—smart boy!Still a young pup, he loves to chew on his toys, so having plenty of appropriate things to keep him entertained will be key in his forever home.Bosephus is ready to bring his loving, fun, and playful energy to a family who will adore him as much as he’ll adore them!***Please Note: All the available dogs listed on our website are getting spoiled in private foster homes. If someone has caught your eye and you wish to arrange a meet and greet, we do need you to fill out the adoption application. When your adoption application is received our screening team will verify the information given. Once your application has been confirmed and approved, we will be send it over to the foster parent for review to determine if your home is a good match for the dog. In the event one lucky dog receives multiple applications, please know we do not select based on a first come basis. We try our best to select the best-fit for our animals and families. ***

Story
This is Huncho. He's only 17 weeks old but he is just the sweetest and smartest boy. We adopted him from the local animal shelter in Raleigh, NC around 10 weeks old. Since then he has been house-trained, knows how to sit, stay and come and loves to play. He is full of energy, typical for a puppy, but as long as you take him on walks or let him run around he will fall right asleep. He truly is the sweetest boy and loves to cuddle and play with his toys. He has been loving the dog park, exploring the new environment, meeting new dogs, and going on walks. We are looking for an owner(s) who is able to put in the time to train and love him. He deserves a loving home that is able to watch him grow. We will miss this sweet boy and are so sad we have to leave him. We will provide the crate, toys, bed, shampoo, treats, leash, and leftover food once adopted.
