Story
PA Kennel License #5254Wags Rescue & ReferralSouthampton Pa 18966 Available 4/7/2024 Originated fromAllmons All About Animals DL# 17277Blackshear GA 31516 10/25/24 Since time of last update, Gabby has progressed tremendously with showing her fondness for her foster family and being excited for each day. She loves to play with any toy, and enjoys relaxing by chewing on a bone on the couch. She sleeps at night on the couch, and generally spends more time in and around the house than in her crate. Her favorite person is now who she was initially most scared of - her foster dad. She gets along well with dogs, cats, and kids of all ages, and is very sweet. Due to her round middle, she is lovingly called a "sweet potato". She is still shy and reserved when meeting strangers, but if you sit down and show her you mean no harm, she will warm up quickly and come over to sniff and say hi. Gabby is still leery of being on leash, but if you have a fenced in yard, this shouldn't be a problem. Gabby would do best in a home with other dogs who enjoy playing. Her forever family will need to be patient with her as she gets used to a new environment, however, your patience will be rewarded with a loving, playful dog who will be a loyal friend for years to come. 5/23/24 Gabby has made amazing strides during the month in her foster home. She has made it to the first floor and is getting more comfortable with her foster Dad (although she is just now slowly warming up to him with tail wags and kisses). Gabby loves her foster Mom best, and enjoys pets, belly rubs, and hugs. She has two times when she has extra energy for zoomies with the resident dog - after breakfast and before bedtime. She prefers to hang out in her crate, and is not a couch-loving lap dog. She does sleep in her crate at night and stays peacefully in her crate when her foster family goes to work and school. She is a sweetie, and will give you her paw to hold and will tell you she loves you by "petting" your arm and giving kisses. She gets very excited about meals, breakfast especially, and will do 360 spins and hop all over to celebrate. She is still very apprehensive of loud noises and sudden movement, so this will be something to be mindful of. Gabby would do best in a home with an easy-going, friendly dog to play and run around with. She loves the resident cat and wants to be friends with her, even if the cat doesn't feel the same way. In terms of her ideal people - a house with a single woman or mostly female household is in her best interest due to her fear of men. Otherwise, the men in the house will have to be patient and understanding of her fear and give her space and time to understand they're her friend. If you need a friend in your life who you can adore - and who will adore you back - Gabby's your girl! Gabby is a 2 year old Brindle beauty of a mutt that originally came from Georgia. She's short and squat and sweet as can be. Gabby is taking time to adjust to her new surroundings and is very hesitant of her new digs. She's currently decided that her foster parents' bedroom on the 2nd floor is a good place to chill, and is just beginning to get comfortable hanging out on the 1st floor. Her foster family is going to be working diligently on helping her get adjusted to home life. She is fearful of men and as a result is very cautious around them. Whoever decides to make Gabby their forever friend will need to be patient and dedicated in continuing her training. She will reward your efforts with her attention and lots of sniffs. There's no dog quite like our gorgeous Gabby! If you're interested in meeting Gabby, please fill out an application with Wags today. Story
~ Caspian is about 56lbs, and 12 years old (but you'd never know it). We think he's a black mouth cur mix. He's up for cuddle time or play time whenever you are. He's a sweet boy  who is easy to get along with loves  everyone and affection.  He may be a senior but he doesn't seem to know it.  He loves his walks and running in the yard, loves to snuggle and take long naps too.  He would do best in a home without small children. He is fine with cats, and he's crate trained, house broken, and neutered.  Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com to find out if Caspian is the right one for you! (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US!  We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. Story
Meet Katty! Katty is a 5-month-old, 25-pound pup with a stunning copper coat, white “socks,” and an adorable black nose and snout. Her foster family describes her as “puppy perfection”—sweet, fun-loving, and wonderfully easygoing. She is a friendly, playful companion who gets along beautifully with everyone in her foster home, including two dogs and two cats. She loves to play but is naturally gentle, always willing to share her toys and avoids confrontation. Katty also adores children of all ages, especially cuddling up with her teenage foster siblings. Her energy level is just right—she’ll match whatever’s happening around her! Whether it’s relaxing with her people, playing fetch in the yard, or enjoying a nap in the sun, Katty is happy as long as she’s included. She is crate-trained and rides well in the car, though she thrives with company and would do best with a family who isn’t gone all day.Sensitive and smart, Katty picks up on commands quickly and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement. She’s house-trained, great on a leash (learning not to zig-zag!), and already knows “come,” “sit,” and “kennel.” Katty is the type of pup who will lean in for affection and connect deeply with her family—she truly is a once-in-a-lifetime companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, easy-to-train, and loving pup to complete your family, Katty could be your perfect match! Story
We acquired Reesie from a pet store in Bucks County, PA. We were told she was part of a rescue from a southern state. Reesie is 4 years old. We are looking for a home that will provide the love and attention Reesie needs. She is very energetic and needs an outside area to be able to walk/run. She also really loves sunshine and will often lay on our patio in the sun. Reesie is loving, protective, and energetic. She really needs an owner who has the time and energy to train her and help her get her energy out. Reesie is calm and loving, however she can be nervous with new people in our home. She barks and jumps on visitors. She will need training for these behaviors. However, with training and attention, Reesie will be a loving new addition to your home.

Story
How can I still be adoptable... still?!! My name is Alonzo. I am about 2.5 years old and 60 lbs. I am a mix of Black Mouth Cur, maybe some Lab and a few other things. I am a very very cool dog. Here are the cool things about me: 1) I love all people and have been friendly with men women and kids! I even hung out with a 4 year old and did great. I knew my boundaries and was very interested in hanging out with him. 2) I am good with other dogs. I live with three others - all different genders and ages. 3) I am housebroken and I am crate-trained. I don't love the crate but I have been doing well left alone when my foster people are gone! 4) I am active and walk well on leash. I love going on walks! I would be a great jogger (if trained) and hiker. I am not dog reactive. 5) I like the baby pool so who knows - I could even like swimming in open water which would be fun. The only thing that may not be agreeable to some is I might be a little too feisty with our feline friends... but, I mean, every dog has to have something right? Please reach out to ASCZ to meet me! I promise I won't disappoint! I AM LOCAL to Northeast adopters!! https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/
