Story
Meet our little Swiss miss. She is a 3 months old puppy who is already 20 LBS and growing. She is puppy perfect! Sweet, fun, cuddly, and matches her humans’ energy levels. her foster mom said she is an EASY foster – hard to let her go. LOVE her!In her foster home, she lives with 2 dogs (a 50 lb lab mix and a 12 lb jack Russell mix), 2 teen-age kids, and busy grown-ups. She gets along very well with EVERYONE. She is fun and happy. She has not guarded food or bones in her foster home and loves to be close to her bigger canine pal (big boy lab mix). She will tuck her tail down and run zoomies around him in efforts to get him to play with her. She is SILLY and FUNNY! She does not live with kitties but Likely will be good with them. As for kids, she has been around multiple ages and has been happy and very cuddly with kids. She lives with two teen-agers and especially loves the younger of the two and snuggles in with him every chance she gets. He has become her family favorite. She seems to know he is younger and she is the baby of the house. Her energy is on the Medium side. she truly will match the energy of whatever is going on… she’ll snooze on the couch, or hang out with a chew bone while her adult people are working, she loves to lay on the porch in the sunshine and give a quiet little “huff” at people walking by (which is very funny – no full blown loud barks – just a quiethuff, trying to fit in with our barky crew who announce everything). She doesn’t shy away from strangers, but she doesn’t initiate a greeting or jump on them. We had a house full on New Years Eve and she’d stand back waiting for reassurance, then embrace all the love and affection She is good on a leash(advise that she needs a harness). She is a puppy and still learning about not crossing in front of her people’s legs (zig zag). Loud noises (cars, construction, etc.) can sometimes seem “new” for her and she takes pause and looks for. She is a great car rider (always crated on rides for safety purposes and does great). She is quiet and can go for long periods of time on road trips (she experienced trips over the holidays. She goes in her crate. She is sometimes sad at first, but then settles in fast. She sleeps in a crate by the bedside and doesn’t make a sound all night. When we leave the house, she goes in the crate with a treat – very treat motivated. She has not had a single accident in her crate! We have a second crate in the living room and sometimes she goes in it and takes a nap with the door open. She is VERY CLOSE to being housebroken ! She is very good andhas caught on quickly, but is still a puppy and needs adequate trips outside. As her foster family, we have kept her gated in the living room and kitchen with us so that she doesn’t have the full run of the house, so we can’t speak for whether or not she’d sneak off and go where she’s not supposed to. We have made sure she’s set up for success since she is still young. She loves Being with her people, playing with her foster canine sibling, fetching tennis balls (she is learning about tennis balls and how fun they can be to roll around, chew on, and fetch) she loves a big bone to gnaw on,rolling in the grass, and basking in the sunshine. her foster mom said this would be the perfect home for her. A home with people who love to snuggle with their dogs. She LOVES to be close. She wants to be near enough to have her head in her person’s lap. She would LOVE a canine buddy who can lead her and show her the way and she loves to play – so a canine sibling compatible in size (maybe bigger since she is growing) would be perfect for her. But she would probably be fine as an only dog with lots of spoiling as well. A home where she has to be crated all day while her people are at work would be hard for her. Some dogs are lazy loners, but she is still a babe and needs companionship. Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application!
