Story
Introducing Molly, a beautiful and gentle soul who is ready to find her forever home! This lovely girl came to FMAR as an owner surrender due to her human parents' difficult situation-through no fault of her own. As she approaches her two-year mark with us, we can't help but wonder why she hasn't yet found her perfect match.Molly is well-behaved and enjoys the simple pleasures of life, like quiet walks and cozy naps on her bed. She has developed wonderful relationships with our volunteers and has participated in many Dog Day Out (DDO) events. Molly is a great car companion and loves visiting the park, where she can soak in all the sights and smells. One of her quirkiest loves is getting sprayed in the face with the water hose-it's a sight that never fails to make us laugh!Though Molly is a large dog, she can be a bit unsure of herself at times. She needs a patient and strong person who can provide emotional guidance and reassurance. We believe she would thrive in a calm home with moderate activity and older children, if any. While she has a strong prey drive, making her unsuitable for homes with cats, she has done well on pack walks with other dogs, especially when allowed to take the lead.Molly seems to prefer the company of male dogs, and with a proper introduction, she may enjoy having a canine brother in her new home. She is fully potty trained and has never shown destructive behavior.Molly is truly a wonderful girl, just waiting for the right family to show her the love and security she deserves. If you're looking for a sweet companion who will fill your life with joy, come meet Molly today!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you would like to meet Molly, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which covers part of the medical care she has received.**Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Story
Meet Colt! This spunky hunk is a 11-month-old, 35-pound black mouth cur mix who is as adorable as they come! He has mastered the art of puppy eyes and we dare you not to fall for him! When you first meet Colt, he can be a bit timid, but the more time you spend with him, the more you see his goofy, fun-loving personality come out. He enjoys spending his time hanging with other pups and has a crush on another resident dog Keira. The two of them have a great time together! He could be an excellent buddy for another energetic pup. As Colt is still a young man, he will benefit from continued training as he grows. He'll thrive with an active family that will be committed to keeping him exercised daily. A yard for him to enjoy is a must for this fabulous pup! When he takes his his treats, he shows his appreciation by giving a little tail wag. We just know he is going to make one lucky family so happy! Some amazing volunteers took Colt out of the kennel for a day filled with excitement! They visited Metamora State Park, and let me tell you, he loved his time away! This little sweetheart was as charming as ever and handled the leash like a pro! Although he needed a little encouragement to jump into the car, once he was in, he was all set for adventure! Along the journey, he encountered a few fellow adventurers and managed it like a champ. He was a bit shy around water, but once he splashed in, he was all smiles! They concluded the day in the most paw-some way-with a pup cup that Colt gobbled up with delight! All in all, Colt is a lovable boy and a true sweetheart! Be sure to check out the adorable photos from this fantastic outing! Based on our evaluation, we feel Colt would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. We feel he has the potential to live with another dog of a similar energy level and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. Let's not have Colt grow up in a kennel! Visit greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for this dynamic dude!
