Once he knows and trusts you, he is extremely sweet and snuggly, and loves to cuddle on the couch. Although he hasn’t quite grasped the concept of fetch, he enjoys running around the yard during play time but is perfectly content relaxing when it isn’t time to play. His favorite toys are stuffed toys, but he only chews them gently instead of tearing them apart. He is a quiet dog who rarely barks, is potty trained and crate trained, and he is well behaved when left unattended with free roam of the house. He loves to play with other dogs and is very gentle and sweet with the cats in his foster home, although he sometimes wishes they would play with him like a dog! He is food motivated and likes to train and do tricks as long as it means he gets rewarded frequently. Cal is shy and cautious around strangers and takes a few minutes to learn that they are safe and won’t hurt him, especially if he is in an unfamiliar location. It typically doesn’t take him long to get used to new people and once he does, they’ll see he was worth it! While Cal has made great strides since being in a foster home for just a short while, he would benefit from a forever home that is able to continue working on his confidence and be patient with him as he overcomes his fears. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. December 8, 2024, 8:20 am

Story
This boy was a rescue from Georgia. He is very playful boy that is full of energy!! He is a go go go sort of boy that will need an active family to keep up with him. He is with a group of pups his size and age so he does very well. He is friendly, knows his name and we think was house trained at some point. He does okay on a leash and knows how to sit for treats. He is just a friendly, happy and playful pup looking for a new forever home. Milo is now in Tennessee and can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

These pups are in Flint, Michigan too!

Story
Cooper was a family members pet that we took in when that family member ending up in the hospital. We have had him for a few months and the owner has sadly passed away. He is 3 years old and still acts like a puppy! He has been to doggy daycare and does get along with other dogs if they are not to rough playing. He loves curling up underneath blankets and will in fact demand to be let under the blanket sometimes. He is a hound so he can be loud and bark. He is a good boy and we just want him to have a loving home.
