Story
Ellie is a beautiful young girl that found her way to us after being found as a stray.  She is a girl with young dog energy, and loves playing with her dog brothers and sisters at the Ranch.  Squirrels get her attention and she loves to chase them, so best to have her in a fenced in yard.  Ellie finds enjoyment in all humans! Give her a lap and she will crawl right in for snuggles.  She has learned stay and is good about listening around open doors, and we know she could learn so much more as she loves to try new things and please her owners. While she can be a food thief on counters at times, she is working super hard about avoiding them temptation.  She is also used to being around little humans and does beautifully with them. Ellie is wonderful with other dogs, but we notice that high value treats are best given separately so no one gets jealous - which is something we advocate for all around.  She may prefer a brother, but meet and greets will best set her up for success. She is fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped and on heartworm prevention. ##1807017##

Story
Introducing Molly, a beautiful and gentle soul who is ready to find her forever home! This lovely girl came to FMAR as an owner surrender due to her human parents’ difficult situation—through no fault of her own. As she approaches her two-year mark with us, we can’t help but wonder why she hasn’t yet found her perfect match.Molly is well-behaved and enjoys the simple pleasures of life, like quiet walks and cozy naps on her bed. She has developed wonderful relationships with our volunteers and has participated in many Dog Day Out (DDO) events. Molly is a great car companion and loves visiting the park, where she can soak in all the sights and smells. One of her quirkiest loves is getting sprayed in the face with the water hose—it`s a sight that never fails to make us laugh!Though Molly is a large dog, she can be a bit unsure of herself at times. She needs a patient and strong person who can provide emotional guidance and reassurance. We believe she would thrive in a calm home with moderate activity and older children, if any. While she has a strong prey drive, making her unsuitable for homes with cats, she has done well on pack walks with other dogs, especially when allowed to take the lead.Molly seems to prefer the company of male dogs, and with a proper introduction, she may enjoy having a canine brother in her new home. She is fully potty trained and has never shown destructive behavior.Molly is truly a wonderful girl, just waiting for the right family to show her the love and security she deserves. If you`re looking for a sweet companion who will fill your life with joy, come meet Molly today!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you would like to meet Molly, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which covers part of the medical care she has received.**Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to disc

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. &#226&#128&#139Pascal (aka Cal) is a dream dog! Once he knows and trusts you, he is extremely sweet and snuggly, and loves to cuddle on the couch. Although he hasn’t quite grasped the concept of fetch, he enjoys running around the yard during play time but is perfectly content relaxing when it isn’t time to play. His favorite toys are stuffed toys, but he only chews them gently instead of tearing them apart. He is a quiet dog who rarely barks, is potty trained and crate trained, and he is well behaved when left unattended with free roam of the house. He loves to play with other dogs and is very gentle and sweet with the cats in his foster home, although he sometimes wishes they would play with him like a dog! He is food motivated and likes to train and do tricks as long as it means he gets rewarded frequently. Cal is shy and cautious around strangers and takes a few minutes to learn that they are safe and won’t hurt him, especially if he is in an unfamiliar location. It typically doesn’t take him long to get used to new people and once he does, they’ll see he was worth it! While Cal has made great strides since being in a foster home for just a short while, he would benefit from a forever home that is able to continue working on his confidence and be patient with him as he overcomes his fears. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. November 15, 2024, 9:58 am
