Story
Wall-E was brought into a North Carolina animal control as a stray who was not claimed. This poor little guy was not doing well in the shelter environment and was shutting down. Since the shelter was at capacity, he was scheduled for euthanasia if a rescue partner could not be found. So we stepped in and Wall-E is now in foster care. Wall-E has been coming out of his shell in foster care and we are starting to see his personality peeping out now and then! He is likely less than a year old, and is looking to his foster brother and sister for cues in how to deal with the world around him. As we learn more about Wall-E, we will update his profile. For now, he is a scared baby who is trying to figure out what is happening to him and who he can trust. If you would like to meet Wall-E, please fill out our adoption application!

Story
This boy was a rescue from Georgia. He is very playful boy that is full of energy!! He is a go go go sort of boy that will need an active family to keep up with him. He is with a group of pups his size and age so he does very well. He is friendly, knows his name and we think was house trained at some point. He does okay on a leash and knows how to sit for treats. He is just a friendly, happy and playful pup looking for a new forever home. Milo is now in Tennessee and can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Tiger came from an overcrowded shelter in Alabama. The shelter is a scary place for a puppy, but fortunately she has been rescued by K-9 Lifesavers. What Tiger really wants is to find her loving forever people. Could that be you? Tiger is your typical sweet and friendly puppy. Playtime is her favorite time, and she loves making human and canine friends alike. At Tiger's young age, she is in her prime for training and socialization. Tiger will make a great addition to an active home. If you are looking for companionship and unconditional love then look no further than this sweet girl, submit an application today! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/  . Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
