River was found living behind a gas station on a very busy intersection. She was skittish and would not let anyone near her. I fed her for about 6 months and was finally able to catch her. I have had her since March of 2024 and have found her to be highly intelligent, gentle, good with all animals and people. I have two small stray that I have had for over 6 years and she is very good with them as well as with Cash an 80 pound Boxer/Pit Bull that I found starving on the street on my way to feed River. They have both been here since March 2024 and have bonded wonderfully. River has been to the Groomers twice for a bath and nail trim and the staff were amazed at how good she was. She is a loving and precious soul but I can't keep 4 dogs. If adopted and for any reason it didn't work out I would take her back immediately as she deserves love and stability.

She loves getting brushed, takes treats gently, and knows how to “sit” like a proper lady. Don’t let her shyness fool you, underneath her baby doll eyes is a very affectionate dog who loves to give kisses! Delilah could really use a loving home where she can grow her confidence and feel safe. She loves to crawl right next to you and would make a great cuddle buddy. She has also met other dogs very politely on leash at the shelter and might do well with other dogs at home or in the outside world! Gunner is a 45 pound goofy bundle of enthusiasm. He loves belly rubs, riding in the car and walking in the park. At home he is a dog toy tester playing inside and outside with balls, stuff animals, kongs, and bones. He plays well with the other 2 dogs in his foster home and sits for treats. He is incredibly strong and while decent on a leash, needs a little more work. Gunners tested positive for heartworm but is currently receiving treatment. After 6 months at the Coweta County Animal shelter he was placed on the July euthanasia list, so he will need an understanding owner who can continue to work to make him the best dog. I adopted Sage in 2022 from a person in a store parking lot with a cage full of puppies. Sage just turned 3. Sage is very playful and loving. She is the sweetest and loves to be shown and give affection. Sage needs a lot of exercise and stimulation. My schedule doesn’t allow me to cater to her in that manner. Sage is also reactive to other dogs. I don’t know where the behavior came from because I made it a point to socialize her with other dogs when she was a puppy and a growing adult. She will play with other dogs but her play is somewhat aggressive so I stopped letting her have play dates. I live in an apartment with lots of dogs and it has become very hard to take her out in this environment. Sage would thrive somewhere wher she has room to play, with owners who have experience with owning a dog. She currently lives with my cat as well. This decision is extremely hard for I just want her to go to a loving, safe home.
