Story
While walking in my neighborhood I saw this sweet pup in a driveway, he was about 6 mts. old. I’ve watched as I’ve walked past where he live and he was then chained up to a fence with no water in the heat of summer. He is now 8 mts. old and I was told by the owner I could have him. They have 4 small children and only one parent works. I cannot bring him to my house as my husband is disabled. I go there everyday to take him good food. I took him to my nephew who is a vet and had all his shots updated, negative for heart worms and neutered. He is so sweet, but definitely needs interaction with his own family or foster family.

Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Rita is a funny little gal who loves playing and snuggling up to her people. If no one is available for playtime, she is happy to entertain herself by throwing balls and toys up in the air and catching them. She's just the kind of dog that can always put you in a better mood!  Lucky Rita landed at animal control as a stray in the Fall. But by Winter a Good Samaritan plucked her out as a foster and put her through training to make her stand out from the crowd. While in training, she learned to temper her play with other dogs a bit, as she used to have a tendency to get over-stimulated and rowdy.  Over time, Rita has learned how to politely engage with other pups and to pick up on their cues when they're tired of playing. She is very eager to please and learn, so she looks forward to her very own person who can continue to show her the ropes of pet life. Visitors to the home are a little bit stressful to Rita, so at this time we are looking for a child free, low traffic home for her. Rita thrives with routine and few surprises. As far as love goes, it comes quite naturally to Miss Rita. She is always happy to greet you and lean into you for affection.  See more photos/videos of sweet Rita: https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B18J058xyJs6jWO Age:  2-3 years Weight: 35 lbs Temperament: Very friendly with familiar people, but needs a slow intro to home visitors; energetically playful with dogs Training: Housetrained, crate-trained and knows commands Vetting: Spay/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.October 3, 2024, 9:18 am

Story
We are seeking a new home for our 4 year old black mouth cur mix. Unfortunately, due to us relocating for my husbands job, we are finding it very difficult finding a landlord that will allow us to keep her. And financially, owning a home is just not an option. She’s housebroken, very sweet, and gets along well with other dogs! She is good with kids (though she hasn’t been around many children outside our own). She can be a bit shy or skittish in the beginning, but is truly a loving companion once she’s settled. She loves the outdoors, going for walks, chasing squirrels, and playing fetch. If you have the space and time to care for her, she’ll make a wonderful addition to your family!

Story
Hi, I'm Skyler, and I’m a sweet, loving 18-month-old pup. My mom, a retired senior (turning 68 next month), rescued me from the shelter because she thought I'd be a great fit for her after her beloved Shih Tzu of 14 years passed away. While she adores me, she’s realized I have more energy than she can keep up with at her age. So now, I hope to find a new home that matches my playful spirit! I’m full of love and enjoy lots of hugs and kisses. My mom knows little about my past, but I’ve adjusted well and am eager to learn new things. I’m not sure how I’d do with small children, but I warm up quickly to people and have done well meeting other dogs (I had a great boarding experience with other pups!). I’m a good listener, very treat-motivated, and have already learned a few commands like sit, stay, down, and "in" (for my crate). I love running, chewing on ice, and I’m fully crate-trained and housebroken. If you’re looking for an energetic and loyal companion, contact my mom for more info.

Story
Meet Rita! Sweet Rita spent over 4 months sitting in an overcrowded metro area shelter just waiting to be saved after her puppies were aborted. We can only imagine how sad, confused, and scared she was! That's all behind her now though! Rita is such a sweet happy girl now that she's out of the shelter and settled into her foster home! She spends her days running and playing with all of her dog friends and her nights snuggled up with a soft blanket - no more scary shelters for her! The one final piece of Rita's Happily Ever After still missing is her very own forever family! Could that be you?
