Meet Rita! Sweet Rita spent over 4 months sitting in an overcrowded metro area shelter just waiting to be saved after her puppies were aborted. We can only imagine how sad, confused, and scared she was! That's all behind her now though! Rita is such a sweet happy girl now that she's out of the shelter and settled into her foster home! She spends her days running and playing with all of her dog friends and her nights snuggled up with a soft blanket - no more scary shelters for her! The one final piece of Rita's Happily Ever After still missing is her very own forever family! Could that be you? Story
Raelynn is a beautiful black mouth cur mix with so much love and “perfect dog energy”! She is giving the vibes and taking names. Kind to our little 10 lb muttie mixes and other visitors to the house both human and canine, Raelynn has a fantastic personality. She is untried with cats; we are working on not chasing squirrels from bird feeders. She is 100% a ball dog, and she is a fast and active runner who enjoys the outdoors and a super active lifestyle. Raelynn is nonstop until the evening, and then a stern “time for night night!” sends her straight to sleep through the night. She has never had any potty accidents in our house, and she has never chewed up ANY of our possessions. She is perfect! With a sleek and soft honeyed - brown coat, beautiful brown doe eyes, and a lovely expression of loving calmness, it is way too easy to fall for this girl. Could you be the one to be her one? She deserves the world, and we are looking for someone to give it to her. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
This adorable pup is Flint! He was one of six abandoned dogs and puppies who arrived at the shelter on 10/29. They're all now looking for new, forever homes. Flint is a super sweet guy, though initially a little shy. Once he gets to know you and learns you're kind and gentle, he warms up. He knows how to sit nicely for treats. Flint is looking for a home where he can decompress and learn to trust humans again after what he's been through. Can you give him a second chance? Flint is approximately 10 months old, and he weighs 41 lbs. He will most likely be a medium-sized dog when fully grown. He is UTD on vaccines, and he will be neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested upon adoption. Flint is waiting patiently in run 853; his ID # is 5956. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Home for the Holidays - Reduced Adoption Fees if Adopted by January 10th!    Hi, my name is Kalina. I know that I am beautiful and a dog that when everybody sees my picture they will want to have me as their own. But you see, I lived a life without humans My entire life. I was just used to make babies. So many beautiful, beautiful babies. But I was never given love, affection, or touch, and I did not even get a minimal amount of attention. So I am not easy. I am not the dog that will come to you if you are looking at me. I will never let you reach down and rub my entire body, at least not until we have known each other for a while. I will barely get close enough for you to just feel my nose and give me a loving touch on my face. But if you give me a chance, I will make small strides. I don't know if I'll ever be that loving couch potato kind of dog. But I do surprise my fommy sometimes and get up on the couch when she's not paying attention and snuggle at her feet. But if you move, I'll move.  I will sneak up on you and boop your butt when you're doing dishes. I will bark at you when I want to come in the house and probably even make you leave the house so that I can come in the house. It will take me a while to take treats from your hand. But I will do it eventually. I need time and slow movements—more time than most. I need someone to build a routine with me. Someone who understands that is who I need. From her Fommy: Understanding that this dog is not a typical dog is so important. As her Foster, it took me months before she would even allow me into the same room with her. We have been together for eight months now, and she's still only coming to the room with me if I'm not looking at her. She loves her crate. She walks right into it as long as I'm not in the path and have my back to her. I tell you this just so you understand how special she is.  Even though she is so standoffish, I know that she loves me with everything that she has. But when she presents her love, it doesn't look like a typical kind of love from any other dog. And this girl needs somebody that's willing to accept that.  She will absolutely require another dog in her household because that is what helps her thrive and to show her safety. She will absolutely need a crate in her home because that is her safe spot. And a fenced-in yard is definitely a must because she is a flight risk. She does not know how to walk on leash and I don't know if she ever will be able to. The real world is just very scary for her. When I take her out she is on multiple leashes and that is just to get her from the house to the car. That being said, I also think a farm environment would work for her. As long as it's not near big roads. You would still need to work with her first to get her comfortable. And she needs another dog to help her with that. But if you give her a nice picnic table to sunbathe on, she will be ever so happy. When it comes down to it, she's a very loyal dog to her property and people.  She's amazing with dogs and children, although with dogs, she can be annoyingly in their face/muzzle area for a long time. And with children, she is very easily startled, so I would say older children. A calm/laid-back home would be ideal.  She is an amazingly sweet, perfect dog, but she's not your typical dog. You are never going to make her into what you want. You just have to be okay with becoming who she needs. If you're up for that task, please inquire for this girl  An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. We verify rental policies and adhere to any regulations. Please ensure you understand those restrictions before choosing a dog.          December 13, 2024, 7:42 am
