I adopted Copper from the Sarasota Humane Society in September 2024. Based on his obedience and response to instruction, it seems like he was in a home before then. He is 4 years old (birthday in Sep). At his core, Copper is an energetic cuddler. He thrives on loving human interaction. He's not one to play with toys, but will definitely run around or wrestle with you. Like most dogs, he's a huge fan of walks/runs and hanging outside. He follows basic commands, is reward-driven, able to learn, and does best with positive reinforcement training. Copper's biggest challenge is aggression toward male guests. He does fine meeting people outside and away from home but is territorial when unfamiliar males enter the house. This is trainable. Ideally, Copper's new home would have more human life so he would not be alone as much. He'd love to be with a family who can provide more love and attention. Outdoor space is ideal.

Meet Matcha! This goofy, cuddly, fun boy is looking for his forever home! He is a 3-year-old black mouth cur mix and about 40 lbs. He is house trained, crate trained, and has various other assortments of training, including sit, down, place, stay, spin, shake, etc. He loves to play and has lots of energy. Matcha would love to accompany you on runs, car rides, swims, and even skateboarding trips! Squeaky and soft toys are his favorite, but be prepared for them to have just a few weeks of a lifespan. If there is a lap for him to sit on or a bed for him to snuggle in, he will make himself right at home. Personal space is afraid of him, but he will listen with a pout if you need him to leave you alone. This little baby would love some soft blankets to lay on and may need a hug during thunderstorms. He is very playful with other dogs and has been around cats before, but can also be protective of his person and territory. He's the friendliest little boy but a loyal companion who will not let anyone hurt the people he loves. Matcha would do amazing in a house with a yard and he'll love you forever if you also have a swimming pool! Meet Hope! Hope is a 1 year old, 40 lb. Black Mouth Cur/Hound mix looking for her forever home. Hope is a sweet girl that just wants to be loved. She is happiest when she is getting love and attention. Hope does not to spend long ahours alone an needs someone that is home often. She is curious and full of puppy energy and needs stimulation and activity to keep her happy and busy. Hope can walk on a leash, but doesn't enjoy long walks. She does love chasing balls and playing with other dogs, so a fenced yard is required. Hope has done well around big and small dogs, but does best with another playful dog that can keep up with her energy. She is crate trained and is potty trained as long as you keep her on a consistent schedule. Being still an oversized baby, Hope is looking for a home with a person who can spend time with her and teach her puppy manners. Hope has not been around cats in the home, but has ignored cats on walks. Hope needs a home without small children as she is still learning to not jump up when she is excited. Hope is very loyal and protective of her person and needs slow introductions with new people.Hope's adoption fee is $350 and includes her spay, rabies and DHPP, and microchip.
