Story
Velma has a sweet babyface with a floppy ear. We got her six months ago from the county shelter where she was taken in as a stray. Unfortunately, Velma has an urge to run. She has escaped our yard and home several times and recently realized that my neighbor has chickens, which has been an ongoing problem. She does not want to kill things, she just loves to chase which leads to the chickens running away. She has never harmed anything or anyone. Velma is very treat-motivated. We have done some agility training with her. She does not understand fetch but loves a soccer ball. She always wants to play with friendly dogs but if a dog barks at her, she will bark back. She loves our cats - they come up to her on the couch so she can give them baths and they sleep in a little pile on our bed. Velma knows commands like sit, wait, in the house, on your mat (place) and leave it. She walks on the leash well with minimal pulling when she is excited. Velma will be a great dog in the right home.

Meet Hope! Hope is a 2 year old, 40 lb. Black Mouth Cur/Hound mix looking for her forever home. Hope is a sweet girl that just wants to be loved. She is happiest when she is getting love and attention. Hope does not like to spend long ahours alone an needs someone that is home often. She is curious and has energy and does best with stimulation and activity to keep her happy and busy. Hope does really well on a leash, but also loves chasing balls and playing with other dogs, so a fenced yard is required. Hope has done well around big and small dogs, but does best with another playful dog that can keep up with her energy. She is crate trained and potty trained. Being still an oversized baby, Hope is looking for a home with a person who can spend time with her and help her with some basic training; however, this smart girl already knows "sit" and "paw". Hope has not been around cats in the home, but has ignored cats on walks. Hope needs a home without small children as she is still learning to not jump up when she is excited. Hope is very loyal and protective of her person and needs slow introductions with new people.Hope's adoption fee is $350 and includes her spay, rabies and DHPP, and microchip.
