This shy girl came to us by way of Lee County Domestic Animal Services as they were running low on space. We often pull dogs from other shelters the don’t have the luxury of time that we do at ARC. When Larkin came to us, she was diagnosed with Heartworm disease. We spent a great deal of time and money to rid her of this terrible disease. She is now healthy and ready to go to a home! Since Larkin can be shy, it would be best if she could go to a quiet home with a family that could work to slowly bring her out of her shell. Staff has been slowly socializing her with other dogs. She has also been “cat tested” and it appears that she’s even afraid of cats! Do you have the time and love to invest in this sweet, shy pup? Why not come out to meet her today?! Likes: Walks, playing with toys, other dogs, chewing ice cubes. Dislikes: Strangers, Cats (other small animals I might consider prey). Unknown: Kids Medical: Heartworm Positive (ongoing treatment), treated for Rabies and hookworm 2024. ----------------------Roy was found by the side of highway 66 in central Florida. He was brought to Naples; where he was subjected to the rigorous training of PetSmart! He advanced through basic into intermediate training where he graduated top of his class. Due to medical issues with family overseas, we have decided to move, making it very difficult to bring our boy, Roy. While Roy enjoys the company of his canine friends, he's not a fan of cats or other small animals (he might consider them prey). He's wary of strangers, which means he'll make a fantastic watchdog for the right person or family.
