Story
At almost 9 years old, I am full of personality and an amazing blend of mellow and playful traits that make me the perfect companion. I'm a quick learner who loves soaking up the sun, spending quality couch time with my favorite humans, and enjoying my absolute favorite treat—peanut butter! In the home, I'm calm and laid-back, but will light up during playtime, especially when it’s time for a good game of tug. I'm also a fantastic walking buddy, with excellent leash manners and a love for exploring the outdoors. When it comes to other dogs, I get along well as long as my new family can help me feel secure—if another dog gives me a hard time, I will push back. With someone who understands my boundaries, I will be ok with friends and make a loyal and affectionate companion.Martingale Collar; Children 8+ as he does not like them in his face; Joint SupplementsAll of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.

Story
LONGEST RESIDENT!  Hi! I'm Mustard. I don't know how much you know about Florida curs - but 2/3 of every litter of true Florida Cur Dogs are born with a bobbed tail, just like mine! People seem to love my nubbin wags! Florida Curs are a very special, active, working line dog - I come with a lot of energy, but am also an amazingly fun and silly class clown. If you're looking for an active companion to hike, adventure and train with - I'm your guy! Mustard is a 2-year-old, 58 lb, Black Mouth Cur mix looking for his forever family. He is UTD, neutered, microchipped, house trained, and walks well on leash. He is crate trained, and is not destructive when left loose in the house. Mustard is very energetic and would love a family to cuddle and go on adventures with. He is not good with cats and needs work on his social skills with other dogs but has a lot of potential to do great with them. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body but is A LOT of dog and needs firm boundaries or he plays too rough, for this reason we are recommedning him to an adult only home with handlers who are physically strong and set good boundaries.  Mustard will receive free professional training support FOR LIFE through our organization. Adoption fee REDUCED: $75 ##1518452##

Story
Emily seems to have zero interest in other dogs and wasn’t interested in the tester dog. Is excited to see people at first but then slows down to have low-medium energy. She enjoys chewing on her bone, going for walks and being petted. Is a staff favorite due to her loving and fun demeanor. Spayed and vaccinated. Emily lived in a home but her owner went to jail. He/she was going to be in jail for a while and asked a friend to surrender her to the shelter. Based on her appearance when she was surrendered it was unknown how long she had been left alone before being surrendered. Emily was on the euth list at this rural shelter and the kennel staff felt so strongly about her that they fought for her life. Emily is an easy going gal who will make an excellent companion and make her new owner laugh a lot! She instantly wins the heart of anyone who meets her and is so ready to have a home of her own.
