Story
Senior dogs make such great house guests. They are typically more relaxed and already know household rules. If this is the type of dog that might fit in your household, then we believe Hope is for you. Hope is confident on her own but thoroughly enjoys affection from people she trusts and would prefer to be a lap dog. She's an 10-year-old senior black mouth cur who weighs around 53 pounds. Hope enjoys other dogs that have an independent personality, another senior would be ideal. If you think Hope would make a great addition to your family and you own your home in either Volusia, Seminole, Orange, Lake, or Osceola county FL, then please read over our adoption process and fill out an adoption screening form here: https://mettarescuefamily.org/adoptable-dogs   ##1193524##

Story
I NEED HELP. Found Dee on the side of road 3 yrs ago. Shes at grandpas, hes not able to care for her. I am desperate for help! I cannot keep her there anymore. She needs a home where she can have a life, people with her, walks, and activity. I walk her, but she needs more! She loves to snuggle, play, run, explore. She does good with my mom’s dogs but cautious around new ones since it’s been a while since she’s been around dogs. A meet&greet is needed with you and your babies. Dont know her history. I don’t think she understands what cats are, she tries to chase them. I think she would prefer human kids. We got her spayed. Sweet girl is terrified of storms, we give calm treats. I looked for family everywhere, I think they abandoned her. I will always love and help her with anything, feel free to reach out to me if you ever needed help with her. Looking for unconditional/endless love for her, a furever loving home/family, as she and all animals deserve that.

Story
Gator is a 7-8 yr old, 62 pound Black Mouth Cur/Americal Bulldog mix, who looks like a 62 pound Pug when he puts his ears up! He's adorable!! Gator is a higher energy guy, who loves to play with his toys and with people. However, he would be happy spending part of his time snuggles on the sofa or in a big, cozy bed with you. Gator is in a pack of 4 dogs and really enjoys having friends to play with him. Gator is HW+ but has started slow kill treatment, and if adopted, his treatment meds will go with him. Gator likes to talk to his people and play a good game of Tug O' War. He's really a big personality. He has no bad habits, is microchipped, has all his shots, is neutered, and housebroken. If you meet him, you will love him. He has very many years left to play and love.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hey, How's it going? My name is Mopar and I enjoy Yappy Hours! Obviously, as you can see I am quite handsome.   But I am also strong and have a great build just like the car I am named after. But I am not all brawn, I am also very smart and sweet. I know tons of commands that my friends at the training camp taught me.  I need someone that will take the time to continue working with me on the many commands I know. I love long walks, so if you jog or hike we will definitely get along. I also like relaxing and getting belly rubs and snuggles. Because I am strong, I will need someone that is able to handle me with walks because if I see a bicycle I get a little upset and need to have someone help me redirect so we can enjoy our outing.   The trainer that I worked with recommends that I go to a home with just one owner because I can get protective of the home and do not want anyone invading the space I feel I need to protect. About Training Camp: Pet Rescue By Judy has teamed up with an incredible program called the  Greyhound Advancement Center  which will allow some of our dogs to attend a ten-week prison training program. The program originally started to help retired racing greyhounds learn how to “dog”. Greyhound racing is now illegal in our state, but the program worked so well that they decided to open up to other rescues and accept different breeds. Each dog is teamed up with an inmate who is in their dog training program. This program allows inmates to gain an important skill that they can bring with them when they are released. The head trainers are the best of the best and we are sure that these dogs are going to come out of this program with all kinds of tricks up their little doggy sleeves. (Don’t worry, the dogs are treated very well and are the apple of their trainer’s eye ). Our dogs are so blessed to be able to learn important obedience training to help with their confidence and make them awesome additions to a family. We can not thank Greyhound Advancement Center enough for giving these dogs a leg up on getting into their forever home! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.8-12-2024 Judy update:Raven has been waiting for a home since 2019!!!! I took her home this weekend and she followed me around the house. She went outside to potty, came back inside and cuddled on her floor bed. Raven has enjoyed laying on the living room waching TV. At night, I could not find her....she was sleeping in my bed on my pillows. This is the best dog:) I was in tears to see her personality change. Please open your heart and home to this sweetheart. I love this wonderful dog, and so will you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~From Raven: My name is Raven, and I was on my own in the woods for so long trying hard to survive. A nice lady rescued me and took me to Judy who made me healthy. That was way back in 2019. Yes, it is true!  I have been waiting since 2019 for a home. Wow!  Can you imagine how happy I would be if I knew the joy of a real home and jumping on the couch to cuddle with my human or just having a backyard of my own in which to play?   Because of my unfortunate background, I am naturally shy with new people, but I warm up and truly would love my own special someone on whom I could bestow my love and devotion. Even though I am a little bit older, there is a bunch of play in me, and I especially like a hard plastic ball.  When you throw balls for me, I may or may not bring it back….depends on my mood. LOL!    Because I am shy and uncertain, it would be lovely to have someone who is home most of the day.l. Honestly, I am just the sweetest girl ever and I know we would love each other so much. It is so hard to see other dogs keep getting picked and here I sit, still waiting after all this time for my very own home that is adult only and I am the one and only pet. More About Raven: The word “rescue” is meant for dogs like Raven who desperately needed to be rescued from her dangerous situation and now very much needs a family to rescue/bring her into their home. This incredibly sweet girl has so much love to offer. Just look into her eyes and you will see liquid love. Raven will need a patient, caring family to slowly bring out the best in her and let her blossom into her best doggie self.     She needs a home with a securely fenced backyard, as walks (at least for now) are pretty scary for her.  Who knows what she may have endured living in the woods? She enjoys playing in the yard with a ball, but then appreciates a nice cozy nap. When it is time to do her business, she needs the backyard in which to potty because she will not go on leash. This is not uncommon in the doggie world. Do you have a big heart for rescues? Then please consider Raven. She needs an adult only home that is calm and quiet with no other pets and with owners who are home pretty much all day every day to help build her self-confidence. This super gentle, super beautiful girl has so much love and joy to offer; it is buried inside just waiting to be brought out by that special loving adopter/foster who will be well rewarded with a devoted furry companion.   Please open your heart to Raven and fill out an application to come meet her!   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2024, 5:22 pm
