Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ALMA-Boy was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. He along with his7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. Alma-Boy is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 21 November 2022 and at the time of transport weighed around 35 pounds. Mixed breed dogs in Oman are referred to as Omani Wadi Dogs, with most of them being Saluki mixes. Alma is such a gentle and sweet boy, he is a little wary at first, but having been through all he has leaving his rescue in Oman and traveling to the US is a huge change. After just a few days, he has settled in great, he gets excited when I go over to the kennels, will now take treats, very gently, shares a kennel with two other dogs and does great. One of his kennel mates, CHIP a young cattle dog is really helping to bring him out of his shell, teaching him to play and having him curious in the toys and chews. He sleeps snuggled up with, I feel he gets a lot of comfort with Chips typical cattle dog confidence. ALMA is thin, although being the kind of breed, a sighthound mix, he will not need to gain much more weight, but a few extra pounds would have him at a healthy weight. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel   and    photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Alma-Boy is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a reduced adoption fee of $300. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats. Story
Meet Violet, she’s a beautiful gal with the most soulful eyes. Violet is a loving, outgoing sweet girl with a gentle nature. She will lean into you for extra cuddles, loves to lay on the bed (like a frog) and curl up next to you to get extra loving.. she is super sweet to everyone she meets. Violet loves car rides, especially when going to Tractor Supply or the pet store where she gets to meet new people and get extra belly rubs. Violet is not an active girl she prefers to go for short walks, relax and enjoy life. Her favorite is being next to her humans on the couch snuggled up. Violet does prefer to be the only dog and have her people all to herself. Violet will bring nothing but joy and love with lots of snuggles into your life. Violet is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Please fill out an application at www.northboundrescue.com

Story
Meet Ginger! Ginger is an attention seeker for sure! Don’t even think about passing by her and not giving her head scratches. When you think you’ve given her enough…multiply that by 100! Ginger is a smart girl. She has learned house rules and has conquered the hound bark. She does bark but once she is told no, she stops. I can’t say that about a lot of people. LOL! Snacks are a must for Ginger. She will be perfectly content if you scratch with one hand and feed treats with the other. Ginger is waiting on your application. He/she is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Please fill out an application at www.northboundrescue.com

Story
Meet Sandy! Have you ever seen the movie Grease? It’s an oldie but a goodie released in 1978 and this Sandy is THE epitome of Sandy in the movie. Shy at first but once she gets to know you, she’s the outgoing bombshell everyone knew was in there. She will be prim and proper for you unless you want the later version of Sandy and be that wild child. It’s your call. She’s young, so there is a learning curve for her and who better to teach her than her new family? He/she is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Story
Mr. Banks was found in an elementary school field being chased by kids - now don't feel bad for him, he LOVED it. He is a HUGE fan of kids and was so happy to be running around with them - a home with kids would be great for him. Mr. Banks is a 2 year old Shepherd/Black Mouth Cur mix, around 50lbs. He is a very sweet boy who is house trained and crate trained. He gets along great with other dogs and loves being active with his family. He does need a secure yard or watched outside as he loves to jump and play and if he has no one with him.... well he may try to find someone to play with. He is very smart and walks lovely on leash too. Don't let this one slip away! *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*
