Story
adoption donation : $699 weight 18 lbs Age: 3 months  as of 8/25   Meet our adorable Andy Griffith puppies—Andy, Barney, Thelma Lou, Helen and Aunt Bea—these are adorable, sweet and gentle puppies that were found as strays in a rural town outside of Tupelo Mississippi. W.A.G.S. took them in and the two boys and three girls have thrived, spending their days romping and playing together and then snuggling in a great big puppy pile to nap.   The puppies are all fully vaccinated and available to travel from Mississippi to loving homes the weekend after Labor Day.   Andy was a little shy at first, but has come out of his shell, now he is just as friendly and active as his sister. He loves toys and bones and get along great with all the dogs at the rescue. Andy is doing well potty training but will need additional guidance while he adjusts to a new home. Like any puppy Andy needs a family dedicated to giving him the structure and training he needs to grow up to be the very good boy we know he can be.      Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs. Wags desperately need to raise funds to help the sick and older dogs at the rescue. Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. Story
Freya is a remarkable 2-year-old black mouth cur/shepherd mix, weighing in at 50 lbs. of pure love. Her journey began in southeastern North Carolina, where she was found by animal control with a broken leg. Against orders to “shoot” her, this compassionate officer chose to save her life and brought her to a rescue. Initially facing the prospect of amputation, Freya’s luck changed when a Good Samaritan and fellow rescuer stepped in and took her to a trusted vet in Mount Olive, NC. Thanks to their care, Freya’s leg was successfully reset, and she is now making a full recovery and able to walk on all fours! Freya has thrived in her foster home, where her playful spirit and affectionate nature shine through. She is great with dogs of all sizes and even gets along well with cats. This sweet girl loves being around her humans and is known for her gentle interactions with both children and adults. While she’s very affectionate, families with small children should ensure they are gentle with her. Her foster family describes Freya as a big cuddle bug who adores being petted and cherished. She has an active side, too! Freya enjoys running, hiking, and playing fetch. She loves her toys and will happily drop one in your lap to initiate playtime. Freya is well-trained and knows all her basic commands, including hand signals. She walks beautifully on a leash, is fully housetrained, and crate trained, making her a fantastic companion for any family. If you’re looking for a loving, resilient dog who’s ready to fill your life with joy, Freya is the perfect match. This happy girl is eager to start her next chapter with a forever family who can appreciate her spirit and love her for the treasure she is! Her adoption fee is $400 and Freya is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. Please note that she is still in NC and will only be transported up north upon approval of an application. This girl has a pure muscle physique. She loves running and playing. She would excel as a hiking/outdoor buddy for you. She is very smart- if you are into agility training she is your girl! She is kennel, leash, and completely house trained. Her fur is a shiny and soft. Don’t get me started on those mesmerizing eyes, and all natural eye liner. Piper is just as much an indoor cuddle bug as she is an outdoorsy gal. Tough and princess rolled up into one. She loves to stretch up on you to give hugs.
