Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Tranferred from City of Guymon Animal Shelter, single pup, no littermates. From the foster: Have you dreamed of a puppy trotting proudly next to you on long walks? If so, I might be the perfect pup for you! My foster family rates my leash walking a 9/10 and loves that I have great stamina to walk for more than 5-10 mins. True to my breed, my energy is boundless, so bonus points if your family has another pup for me to play with, or young kiddos (who I tend to wear out when they try to race me in the yard). I can’t decide what I love more; super affectionate petting from my humans or playing with my toys. Speaking of toys, I prefer crinkly plushies over plastic or rubber toys, and will play tug with you until my body gives out! My foster family appreciates that I don’t have to be taken outside to potty during the night, apparently humans really love sleep. Finally, I do love being outside more than I like being inside, so a home with a fenced yard will be a great fit for me! -Allie www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Meet Moose – a 2-year-old, 80-pound Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart as big as his goofy smile. His story almost ended before it truly began. He landed in a high-kill shelter and despite his wagging tail and hopeful eyes watching every person who walked past his kennel, the days ticked down. Minutes before he was scheduled to be euthanized due to overcrowding, our rescue pulled him to safety. That was the day his luck finally turned. Moose is incredibly smart, gentle, and affectionate to his core. He greets every human like a long-lost friend, leans in for pets, and believes laps were invented specifically for 80-pound cuddle bugs like him. Moose is dog-friendly, great with calm and respectful kids, and ready to be someone’s loyal shadow. He’s past the wild puppy phase but still has that joyful, playful spark. Moose is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm-negative. He’s ready to go home today.

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Ranger finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Ranger #5 | 7-Month-Old Black Mouth Cur | Playful, Bright, and Learning the World Ranger is a bright, energetic 7-month-old Black Mouth Cur who has come a long way after a tough start to life. Taken from his mom too early and later surrendered to a crowded shelter, he was scared and unsure of the world when he arrived—but with love, routine, and patience, he’s blossoming into a sweet, affectionate companion who’s ready for a family committed to helping him continue to grow. Ranger is mostly house trained, uses the doggie door, and enjoys his walks—he may pull a bit, but he’s learning. He settles nicely when crated and does best that way when home alone, simply because he’s still young and curious and may chew on things he shouldn’t if left to his own devices. With guidance and continued training, he’s showing great improvement. Socially, Ranger is still building confidence. He can be unsure when meeting new dogs and people, and his initial barking or growling is his way of expressing nervousness, not aggression. With slow introductions and reassurance, he relaxes quickly—especially with female dogs and when meeting in neutral, outdoor spaces. He has even done well with young children once he understands they’re friendly, though calmer interactions suit him best. Ranger is highly food-motivated, smart, and eager to learn. He already knows several basic commands and responds well to redirection. He thrives with structure and is happiest when he has a job to do—long walks, fetch, tug, puzzle toys, and training sessions help channel his puppy energy in positive ways. After playtime, he becomes an affectionate cuddlebug who loves belly rubs, resting his head on you, or curling up in your lap for a nap. He also entertains himself with durable chew toys and his beloved ice cubes. His perfect home would include an active, fairly submissive female dog who enjoys play, along with an adopter who can offer patience, continued socialization, and consistent training. Ranger bonds deeply with his person and becomes a devoted shadow once he feels safe. With the right match, he’ll grow into a loyal, loving, and wonderfully rewarding companion.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $425). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Meet Elvis Pawsley! This charming boy might be a little shy at first, but once he feels safe, his whole personality blossoms. Elvis is fully vaccinated, neutered, and ready to start his next chapter with a family who’ll adore him. Elvis has a gentle, soulful way about him—more of a quiet companion than the center of the chaos. He loves to observe, take things in, and approach the world at his own comfortable pace. Once he’s settled, he’s affectionate, cuddly, and eager to bond with his people. Because of his young age and positive early experiences, we expect he’ll do well with kids, cats, and other dogs. He’s been picking up the basics, is eager to please, and responds best to patient, kind guidance. With the right support, he’s the type of pup who grows more confident every single day. If you’re looking for a sweet, softhearted companion with a hint of rock ’n’ roll charm, Elvis Pawsley is your guy. He’s ready to wiggle, wag, and love his way into your home—peanut butter optional but highly appreciated. ##2567351##

Story
This pup was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. They will be available to meet starting 12/13! Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2593128##
