Story
Hello friends!! My name is FIESTA and here is some info about me:
PHYSICAL INFO:
Breed: Black Mouth Cur/Lab mix
Age: approx. 8 months
Gender: Female
Weight: 29 lbs (I think I'll max out around 45-ish lbs)
Current Location: Texas
RESCUE STORY - Me and my littermates were rescued when we were just 4 weeks old, along with our mama. Our "owner" was hoarding dogs in their home. Thankfully, local law enforcement intervened and found us a placement at County Roads Rescue facility in Texas. I have spent my whole life at this awesome rescue facility, safe and sound but longing for a home to call my own. Don't tell the others, but I am one of the volunteers' favourites here, hehe. My mama dog is a super easy going girl and my rescuers say I have proven to be just as calm-natured as she is!
TEMPERAMENT - Once comfortable, I am a loving and playful young gal! I can be shy upon first introductions but I warm up with a bit of time. As I mature and continue to have positive experiences, I'm sure my confidence will grow too! I have a sweet soul and an easy-going nature (after I've had sufficient exercise, of course!). I am looking for an active family who is ready for "all things puppy" - hoomans who are open to working with potential play nipping, high energy, housetraining, and developing leash skills. I promise to repay you with loads of cuddles, kisses, and tail wags!
ENERGY LEVEL - Medium/High - I'm a puppy!! I can be energetic at times and LOVE to play, but after the right amount of exercise, I switch over to a calm, cuddle bug. The perfect combo, if I do say so myself!
GETS ALONG WITH:
Kids – I have met some children (video) and didn't seem bothered, although I'm definitely a little shy and timid at first.
as with ALL dogs, I should always be supervised around children and I need to have my space respected. It's important to remember I am a puppy, so I may play nip or bounce/jump up on people (including children!)
Dogs – Yup! There's lots of doggos at the shelter and we get along just fine.
Cats – Yup! Check out my video! If anything, I'm a little scared of the cats (although I love their cat toys!)
PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.
TRAINING:
Leash skills – I do pretty well on a slip leash but would love an adopter who is willing to continue working with me on my leash skills.
Crate trained - yes!
House trained – not yet, as I'm living in a busy shelter environment. I'm sure with frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement in my new home, I'll learn quickly!
Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.
HEALTH NOTES:
I am a healthy young girl who has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
I have tested negative for heartworm.
I will be tested for distemper and parvo before travelling (although I've been vaccinated for both!)
NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
ADOPTION FEE:
My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my ground transport to Edmonds, Washington. My adopter needs to be willing to drive to Edmonds, Washington to pick me up! :)

The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.
WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.
