Frankie is a happy, bouncy dog who came to PACC as a stray. Initially a bit nervous, Frankie has come out of his shell and always has a smile on his handsome face. Here’s what one volunteer said:“I met Frankie for the first time today. He was a little nervous about leashing but once leashed, he exited the kennel easily. It was a hot day, so we just went to the play yard, where he explored. After that, he came to me and enjoyed petting, leaning into me and staying by my side. He got his feet wet in the pool for a cool off, then came back. He sits for treats and takes them gently. He returned to his kennel and allowed unleashing with no problem. I enjoyed my time with him.”Frankie shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been social, tolerant, and playful when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. Ask to meet Frankie today!!

If you’re looking for a bonafide 5-star rated pup to join your family, look no further than Leroy! This strikingly handsome boy received an A+ rating on a recent day trip. Leroy had the opportunity to go on lots of walks, try different treats and meet new people. His top three personality traits were kindness, gentleness, and curiosity. In addition, he was sociable, walked well on a leash, liked to go on hikes and run, was housebroken, knew tricks, and was a mellow couch potato. `Leroy is a very kind gentleman. He walks well on leash and does not pull. He likes chicken and cheese. He is very people oriented and knows how to shake! He encountered barking dogs through a fence and did not react. We tried to engage Leroy with a game of fetch, but he would much rather receive pets from humans than chase after a ball. He had no potty accidents in the house. After a long walk he likes to cool off on the nice cold tile. If I had the time, I would adopt Leroy. He is the perfect gentleman.”In playgroup at the shelter, Leroy was people oriented and a little nervous, but appropriate with other pups. He has successfully shared his kennel at PACC with a female roomie. Shelter volunteers have reported that Leroy is a friendly, cuddly guy who is easy to leash up and doesn`t pull while walking. Marty is very much a puppy with big puppy energy and a zest for life- he needs an active, patient family who will keep him engaged, teach him new skills, and include him in all their adventures!! Simba is a sweet and nervous pup who came to the shelter as an owner surrender. Simba is very friendly, however he gets anxious meeting new people and appreciates people who go at his pace and give him time to warm up. Simba loves playing with toys such as ropes, balls, and kongs. He also loves a variety of treats and considers himself a treat connoisseur. Simba would do best in a mellow, low energy household with patient humans who will continue his training. He would like to meet all family members and potential new dog friends before he goes home.

Piper was the main character in the show Orange is the New Black…not that we`re comparing kennel life to prison life. I mean sure, there are some similarities… you spend most of your time indoors with a couple of daily exercise breaks, you don`t get to choose your roommate, and the food can be a bit monotonous. But, you don`t have to wear orange! In fact most of the inmates don`t wear any clothes at all, because, you know… they`re dogs. Also, you don`t have to break the law to end up in the shelter- Piper certainly didn`t! To top it all off, Piper can leave anytime- she just needs to find a family first! #FreePiperPiper was originally adopted through a rescue group and was in a home for about a year and half before first coming to the shelter in 2022. She was housebroken in that home and would politely bork when she needed to be let out to do her business. She slept at the foot of her people`s bed and they told us that she loves attention, and to run and play fetch. Her only request is that she not be disturbed while sleeping- a girl needs her beauty rest!! Piper was adopted, but her family is moving so she’s back on the search for her happily ever after. In her most recent home, she was described as affectionate, playful, friendly and cuddly. She was also housebroken and crate trained and reportedly did well with kids.Piper has been social, tolerant, and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. She may do best in a home without small dogs. Ask to meet Piper today!!
