Story
Frankie is a happy, bouncy dog who came to PACC as a stray. Initially a bit nervous, Frankie has come out of his shell and always has a smile on his handsome face. Here’s what one volunteer said:“I met Frankie for the first time today. He was a little nervous about leashing but once leashed, he exited the kennel easily. It was a hot day, so we just went to the play yard, where he explored. After that, he came to me and enjoyed petting, leaning into me and staying by my side. He got his feet wet in the pool for a cool off, then came back. He sits for treats and takes them gently. He returned to his kennel and allowed unleashing with no problem. I enjoyed my time with him.”Frankie shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been social, tolerant, and playful when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. Ask to meet Frankie today!!

Story
Do you have a sport or hobby that you’re REALLY into? Like, absolutely love it, have all the gear, play or do the activity at any and every opportunity? If so, sweet Marcel can relate; he thinks that tennis balls are the best thing ever invented! This sweet and playful boy absolutely loves to chase a tennis ball with his person! We can all learn from Marcel to enjoy the simple pleasures in life! Marcel’s volunteer friends sure love him, with one sharing the following:“I met Marcel for the first time today and he was very friendly and greeted me at his kennel door with a wagging tail. He was easy to leash and take out for a walk. On our walk he actually came across a tennis ball, which he was enthralled by, so we changed course and went back to the shelter to play in a play yard. Once in the yard he was happy as a clam as I tossed a tennis ball for him over and over. He would come over to me for snuggles between ball tosses; he is a very sweet boy!”Marcel was brought to PACC by a member of the community who had him for three days and said that he followed commands and did well meeting strangers and kiddos.Marcel shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been social and tolerant when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any potential furry roommates before heading home to ensure a good fit. Marcel is hoping for a family who will include him on all their adventures! If you’re looking for a sweet and easy pup who is very easy to please (snuggles and tennis balls, please!), come meet Marcel today!

Story
Simba is a sweet and nervous pup who came to the shelter as an owner surrender. Simba is very friendly, however he gets anxious meeting new people and appreciates people who go at his pace and give him time to warm up. Simba loves playing with toys such as ropes, balls, and kongs. He also loves a variety of treats and considers himself a treat connoisseur. Simba would do best in a mellow, low energy household with patient humans who will continue his training. He would like to meet all family members and potential new dog friends before he goes home.

Story
Piper was the main character in the show Orange is the New Black…not that we`re comparing kennel life to prison life. I mean sure, there are some similarities… you spend most of your time indoors with a couple of daily exercise breaks, you don`t get to choose your roommate, and the food can be a bit monotonous. But, you don`t have to wear orange! In fact most of the inmates don`t wear any clothes at all, because, you know… they`re dogs. Also, you don`t have to break the law to end up in the shelter- Piper certainly didn`t! To top it all off, Piper can leave anytime- she just needs to find a family first! #FreePiperPiper was originally adopted through a rescue group and was in a home for about a year and half before first coming to the shelter in 2022. She was housebroken in that home and would politely bork when she needed to be let out to do her business. She slept at the foot of her people`s bed and they told us that she loves attention, and to run and play fetch. Her only request is that she not be disturbed while sleeping- a girl needs her beauty rest!! Piper was adopted, but her family is moving so she’s back on the search for her happily ever after. In her most recent home, she was described as affectionate, playful, friendly and cuddly. She was also housebroken and crate trained and reportedly did well with kids.Piper has been social, tolerant, and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. She may do best in a home without small dogs. Ask to meet Piper today!!

Story
CENSUS DEADLINE 5PM 12/10/24Name: SandyAnimal ID: A820935Age: 3 years Weight: 57 lbs. About: Sandy is an energetic, happy young dog who is looking for his forever home. He spent close to a year in a foster home before returning to the shelter and we learned the following:- He lived with another dog and did great - He was housebroken - He is an active, playful pup who will benefit from training and structure - He is well- behaved when left home alone, snoozing the day away- He is smart, alert, and curious - He is sweet and loves to be with his people- He loves toys- He loves to runSandy will thrive in an active household with owners who can provide him with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He`s a smart and eager-to-please dog who will benefit from training and positive reinforcement. Here’s what one volunteer at the shelter said:“I have a thing for brown dogs and Sandy fits the bill. He is the whole package in my eyes. We walk in the desert together, with no pulling or jumpiness. I find him to be such a nice walker. He turns to me now and then looking for a treat, but I tell him to keep walking and he continues on. I haven`t seen any reactivity or mouthiness from him any time I have had him out. He`s actually one of the most enjoyable walks of my night. I find Sandy to be an awesome companion and thoroughly enjoy any time I can spend with him.”While Sandy can be good with other dogs his size and larger, he has a high prey drive and should not be in a home with cats or small animals. He`s also prone to destructive behavior when bored or stressed, so crate training and plenty of enrichment are essential. Due to an old fracture from when he first came to the shelter, Sandy will need joint supplements to keep him comfortable for life. Sandy is a wonderful dog who deserves a loving and patient family. Please ask about how you can help Sandy! Available for foster care or adoption through PACC.Adoption Process:Interested parties:• Must visit PACC before the 5:00 PM December 10, 2024, deadline to meet with an adoption or foster counselor who will go over notes and then introduce you to ensure that it’s a good fit.
