Story
You know that one friend who's too chill, who just wants to hang out, and somehow always ends up with the best snacks? That's Chance. This 6-year-old Coonhound may be big, but he's a gentle giant who just wants to be loved, play with his dog friends, and occasionally flop down on your feet like a furry rug. If you like snuggles and tail wags, you'll be the best of friends. Chance learns new tricks faster than he can steal your spot on the couch. 100% house-trained, crate-trained, and no destructive habits, Chance is the most laid-back companion you'll ever have. He loves being with his four-legged buddies, but sometimes he needs a little work on his overly-excited "first impression" when meeting new dogs. He seems to do well with kids and if you have a cat, we'd recommend a slow introduction - Chance is a gentleman, but he doesn't speak fluent "meow" yet. But he DOES understand love and kindness, so he is waiting for you to make him a treasured part of your family. Adopters have 30 days of free access to 1-on-1 text and email support from trainers at Petcademy to help make every pet's transition into their new home as smooth as possible. All dogs available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and are current on all vaccinations. Please email dogs@henricohumane.org for more information.

Story
Hey there! My name is Buddy, and I'm a handsome black and tan Coonhound. At 3-4 years old, I weigh a solid 63 lbs. and have been neutered. I'm up to date on all my vaccinations and have tested negative for heartworm. I'm house trained, crate trained, and currently working on my leash training. I'm great with children, other dogs, and even cats! I do get curious and like to sniff them, and if they run, I might chase them. But don't worry, I sleep in bed with my foster's cat at night and we get along just fine. I'm good with all animals and have never shown any aggression. I'm the biggest, sweetest love bug you'll ever meet. I love going on car rides and cuddling up on the couch. I'm also a great camping dog! I take well to being the low man on the totem pole and let the other dogs boss me around. I can be a bit skittish around men at first, but I warm up to them slowly. I'm currently being fostered in Virginia Beach, VA, but I can be transported out of state for the right home. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who enjoys adventures and cuddles, I'm your guy! Let's make some wonderful memories together.
