Story
This pretty lady is Uromastyx! This girl and her siblings came to us from our friends at PETA. They have been so much fun to care for but they are now ready to find their forever homes! Uromastyx has enjoyed spending time with her sisters while in our care so we are sure she would love a canine companion at home...as long as they are ready for a playful puppy! She is also happy to snuggle up with her human friends. Slow introductions to new animals and people are always recommended when brining home a new puppy. This gal loves her food so we recommend separate feeding spaces and slow feeder bowls for her. A kennel staff member can show you what kind we use in the shelter. Adopters should be ready for normal puppy behavior and be ready to help Uromastyx with all of her puppy training. She will need help with potty training, crate training, and leash walking when she is old enough. If you think that Uromastyx could be your new bestie, come in and meet her today! ** Uromastyx is a Hound mix and she is a growing gal, adopters should be aware of any breed and size restrictions if they are renting **

Story
Luna is a healthy rescue dog who has been part of our family since she was a puppy. She will be 4 years old in July and is current on all vaccinations and routine care. She is affectionate, family-friendly, and does well with kids and other pets. Luna loves being around her people, enjoys playtime, walks, and hikes, and also settles in well for quiet evenings and cuddling on the couch. We are looking for a stable, loving home where she will receive plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship. We want to make sure she goes to the right fit and are happy to answer questions about her personality and routine.

Story
We could see Parker’s ribs. All of them.Clearly.Despite getting three big meals a day, plus treats, Parker was losing weight. He spent his days at the shelter running in frantic circles, then pacing when he was too tired to run.At night, he barked at every sound, every shadow, as if the world itself was closing in.So we tried an experiment: a kind volunteer offered to foster Parker. And just like that, the story changed. In a quiet home with routine and calm, Parker exhaled. His ribs disappeared beneath healthy weight. His pacing slowed to a steady trot at your side. His bark softened from panic to commentary -- a running narration of life as your devoted shadow.Parker is three years old, housetrained, crate trained, and so smart you’ll catch him studying you like he’s preparing for an exam. He’s polite, sensitive, and deeply loyal -- the kind of dog who wants to get it right for you, every time. What Parker has taught us is this: he isn’t built for chaos. He doesn’t thrive in busy households, and he’s not comfortable living with other pets or children. Leashed walks and unfamiliar environments increase his anxiety -- Parker is a homebody who feels safest when the world is small, predictable, and kind. He doesn’t need adventures. He needs consistency, patience, and a person who understands that love doesn’t always look loud.If you’re looking for a steady presence rather than a whirlwind, a loyal shadow rather than a social butterfly, Parker may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.***PARKER IS IN FOSTER. PLEASE SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET HIM.Email contact@animalaidsociety.org, or call 757-865-0511Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
