This sweet black and tan coonhound wandered up near Talala just days before Thanksgiving- hungry, scared, and hoping someone might notice her. In only two days, she's shown how gentle and friendly she really is. She happily greets new people, does well with an 11 year old child, is friendly with other dogs, but has made it clear she's not looking to befriend chickens. She even sits politely and comes when called, which is pretty adorable for a little stray who hasn't had much guidance.

Addie is a sweet, tall hound girl who's shy and cautious but full of enough curiosity to want to get past it. She's had a rough start and is still working on learning that the world and the people in it can be safe, but she's beginning to come out of her shell- she loves running and playing when she feels brave. Addie would do best in a calm, patient home, ideally with another gentle dog to help her gain confidence. She'll need a family who can give her support and reassurance so she can feel safe enough to relax, have fun, and start learning what it's like to be a puppy. If you're ready to help a shy but sweet dog feel safe and loved, Addie is ready to meet you!
