Story
We found Beau at Peninsula Animal Shelter in Newport News, VA. He was just over 1 yr when we adopted him. He will turn 5 this May of 2026. We are looking for a home with no young children (teenagers are fine) and no other dogs or pets due to his food aggression. Beau is relaxed and calm at home, but loves to unleash his inner hound when he goes on walks. He is interested in sniffing everything and could walk for miles and loves to go on runs. He is super sweet and loves to snuggle. There have been several mornings that I have woken up with his head resting on my neck! Lately he has become a little skittish when the sun goes down so thats something to be mindful of. He is territorial over his space like his bed and food bowls and does not like being approached, especially when he is asleep. He has a bite history with kids, so please keep that in mind if he is ever around them it should be at an absolute minimal. He is such a loyal dog and deserves the world.
