Story
Chirp is currently enrolled in the 12 week Puppies 4 Parole program through the Mo Department of Corrections. She will graduate around February 5th and will be available for adoption at that time. If you are interested in adopting Chirp, please complete an application and the foster parent will contact you. Are you ready for the goofy antics a Coonhound can bring into your life? Meet Chirp! She is a one year old, Black and Tan Coonhound! She defines her breed with all the best characteristics: funny, energetic, aloof, smart and silly! Chirp came to rescue in less than good condition. She was found by a wonderful family that searched until rescue could be found for this deserving girl! Poor Chirp had all the intestinal parasites, was skinny as a rail and unfortunately tested heartworm positive. What a horrible story for your first year of life! Chirp has gained a great amount of weight with some healthy groceries and is rid of the intestinal parasites! She has completed her treatment for heartworms with no bumps in the road. She most likely had never been in a house prior to rescue. Chirp has learned so many things in her couple months with her foster family! She is housebroke, learning counters are not for surfing, beds are comfy and backyards are for zoomies! Chirp is super friendly with everyone she meets, she is dog friendly with all dogs! Chirp is NOT cat friendly , she does have intent to harm the cats in her foster home. Therefore, Chirp’s new home should not have cats! If you are interested, complete the Adoption Application on our website at www.NeedyPaws.org and we will contact you. Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Chirp’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
