Story
Let me introduce Chance, one of the coolest dogs in our rescue! His foster mother has medical issues, and she wants him to find his furever home ASAP! This awesome guy was abandoned in the woods, alone in the middle of nowhere, when he was still a puppy – scared and left to die young. He is extremely sweet. Chance loves toys and playing fetch - playtime is high on his wish list. He is very friendly, never meets a stranger, and loves absolutely everyone he meets. He still has a puppy spirit and needs activity & exercise! He would be great for an active family that hikes or runs, as long as there are cuddles and belly rubs. His leash walking is progressing well. He gets along well with other dogs with proper introduced. He will be happiest as a loving family companion. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We'll transport to a destination near you every weekend, alternating between the Northeast and the Great Lakes.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/oscar/ Hello. I am Oscar. No, I do not have a hot dog named after me. No, I'm not a grouch from Sesame Street (although I do have my moments), and I'm not the messy Oscar from the Odd Couple. I am Oscar the hound. A redbone coonhound to be precise. Since I am a hound, my nose leads the way on long walks. I am great with other dogs. I especially love to relax outdoors in the sun and I am house trained. I also know basic commands and take treats well. I love car rides! While I am primarily good-natured, I can be protective of food, toys, and objects that I think are mine. I would do best in a home with no children and a strong experienced owner. A few other things about me. I do the "Oscar dance to make a pitch for some yummy treats. Also, I always, always have a smile on my face. I love low-key living and know a great home is out there for me. Come and visit to see my Oscar dance, and let's get to know each other! If you have the experience and are looking for a dog to hang out on the back porch and bath in the sun. I am the Oscar for you.

Story
Hi! My name's Anjea! I'm a gorgeous, happy, and healthy (now that I've been cared for lovingly by my foster family!) girl who would love to share a home (and a couch) with a family, including dogs and kids if you have them! I love playing tug-of-war, chasing tennis balls, and chewing on bones. Although I am pretty playful, I'm also always down for a good nap in bed, on the floor, or in my crate. If you're looking for a cuddle buddy who is super sweet and loves to play, I'm your girl!!

Story
Generally: Benji is a beautiful dog. He looks like a full American Foxhound, but it's anybody's guess since he is a rescue. He is very sweet and plays well with other dogs at the park. He loves to run and his speed belies his age (about eight years). It's fun to watch the two-year-olds try to keep up! If allowed he will run, so fenced yards and play areas are a must. History: I got him from a VERY loving family that rescued him pre-COVID from a shelter in southern Virginia. They now have a much larger family, and felt that Benji was not getting the love and attention he deserved. I got him in March at their home, so he has not been in a shelter for some years. Unfortunately, he has food issues. He has become aggressive with my small dog, lunging at her when she is eating. There was one food-related incident, shortly after adoption, where he bit me and my housemate. That was in late April and has never happened again.

Story
Please contact Melissa A Aten (melissaa@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.hound dog awooing for his forever family! HENRY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:  Henry    Best Guess for Breed:   Treeing Walker Coonhound mix   Best Guess for Age:  3 years as of June 2024        SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight: 68 lbs   Gets Along With:    Henry does well with other dogs! He also passed a shelter cat test, which is a good indication that he could live with a cat. As far as we know, he never has, though. He currently lives with kids in his foster home.   Currently Living at: DC area foster home! Special adoption considerations: Henry is a truly Lucky Dog! He tested positive for Heartworm disease but has already been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the adoption counseling process.   See this happy handsome boy in this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spF6uMpiU98   Henry is Looking For:  Well, hi! I'm Henry! I'm just a good hound dog, with the typical hound's nose for adventure. I'd like to go to a home with someone whose able to take me on long, sniffy walks so I can inspect my neighborhood with my houndie nose. We live to sniff! I'd also like to be able to play with other pups sometimes. Most of all, though, I want to be safe and loved and know who my human is. What do you say? Am I the pup for you?   What My Foster Says About Me:  Henry did very well on his first night! Did awesome with the resident kids (5yo + 7yo), super people-oriented and friendly! Seems eager to please and not very vocal as of yet. Did well in crate so far. He was super excited to be out on a walk and smelling all the new smells. He is such a good boy :)   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
