You are only as big as you feel. And I feel like a little lapdog! One of my favorite things to do is cuddle on my fosters' laps, and I have never found a lap that is too small for me. Ok, I found one lap too small, the two-legged puppy in my foster home (I hear people call him a "baby" but I am the baby). His lap is too small for my whole body, but I'm gentle with him and one of my big, floppy ears fits perfectly. Outside I love to use my nose, it’s my super sniffer and I can find anything. I've found the best places to walk, and all the good treats in my foster home (I like using my nose inside too). I'm still learning how to walk on a leash, but people say I am getting better. It's hard to contain my excitement when there are so many good things to smell! But I am working on it, and you can help me get better. You are probably thinking, "will big boy Todd fit in my home and with my family?" And the answer is YES! I love to play with people of all ages and with other dogs. I hear my foster family call me "goofy" all the time. I don't know what that means yet, but I think it means "wonderful, silly boy who loves everyone." Because that is what I am! I know you want a lapdog who can cover your whole lap and keep you warm in the winter. To find out how this little-at-heart boy can join your family, email my friend Joshua at JoshuaHTRescue@gmail.com. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and an adoption coordinator will contact you with next steps! CHANCE MUST BE ADOPTED SOON AS HIS FOSTER MOTHER CANNOT KEEP HIM MUCH LONGER! Let me introduce Chance, one of the coolest dogs in our rescue! His foster mother has medical issues, and she wants him to find his furever home ASAP! This awesome guy was abandoned in the woods, alone in the middle of nowhere, when he was still a puppy – scared and left to die young. He is extremely sweet. Chance loves toys and playing fetch - playtime is high on his wish list. He is very friendly, never meets a stranger, and loves absolutely everyone he meets. He still has a puppy spirit and needs activity & exercise! He would be great for an active family that hikes or runs, as long as there are cuddles and belly rubs. His leash walking is progressing well. He gets along well with other dogs with proper introduced. He will be happiest as a loving family companion. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We'll transport to a destination near you every weekend, alternating between the Northeast and the Great Lakes.

https://foha.org/pet/oscar/ Hello. I am Oscar. No, I do not have a hot dog named after me. No, I'm not a grouch from Sesame Street (although I do have my moments), and I'm not the messy Oscar from the Odd Couple. I am Oscar the hound. A redbone coonhound to be precise. Since I am a hound, my nose leads the way on long walks. I am great with other dogs. I especially love to relax outdoors in the sun and I am house trained. I also know basic commands and take treats well. I love car rides! While I am primarily good-natured, I can be protective of food, toys, and objects that I think are mine. I would do best in a home with no children and a strong experienced owner. A few other things about me. I do the "Oscar dance to make a pitch for some yummy treats. Also, I always, always have a smile on my face. I love low-key living and know a great home is out there for me. Come and visit to see my Oscar dance, and let's get to know each other! If you have the experience and are looking for a dog to hang out on the back porch and bath in the sun. I am the Oscar for you.

Hi there! I'm Ladybird, and I'm so excited to meet you! I absolutely love going for walks—there's nothing like stretching my legs and sniffing all the interesting smells along the way. I enjoy exploring new places, and I'm always up for a little adventure. I used to live in a home where I felt loved, but now I'm looking for a new family to call my own. I’m a pretty vocal gal, so if I have something on my mind, you’ll definitely hear about it! Whether it’s a bark to greet you or a little conversation, I’ll always let you know how I’m feeling. If you’re someone who enjoys walks, a bit of chatter, and love giving a dog some attention, then I might just be the perfect companion for you. I can’t wait to meet you and see what exciting things we can do together! https://foha.org/pet/ladybird2024/

Good with:Dogs Not tested with:Cats, kids House trained:Mostly with an occasional accident Energy level:Medium Noise level:Medium (barks when someone is at the door, or sometimes to get your attention) Hi, Im Dreamer! Im a sweet, playful little hound with a heart full of love and cuddles to share. My favorite thing in the world is being close to my peopleand maybe sneaking in a kiss or two for my doggy friends! Im a medium-energy pup who loves zoomies, playtime, and snuggling up for some affection afterward. Im still learning my manners, but Im a fast learner with the right guidance. I already know come, in a fenced yard with my current foster parents. Im crate-trained and happy to rest in my cozy spot when no one is home or at night. Potty training is still a work in progress, but Im trying my best! Walks are another thing I enjoy, especially when I can meet new friendsboth people and dogs, and Im generally polite on the leash. The cutest thing about me? I hold up my front paw when Im sitting or waiting for foodits just my special way of being me! Whether its playtime, cuddle time, or learning new things together, Im ready to be your best friend. Could I be the perfect match for you? My foster guardian says: "Dreamer is very, very affectionate and is a wonderful companion all day long. She has a sweet disposition." Likes: Zoomies and playing with other dogs My ideal home:While I'm still working on my housetraining, I'd do best with a family that can take me outside for quick potty breaks often throughout the day. Otherwise, I'd do well in a variety of homes! I currently live with three other dogs but don't require a home with another pup. Story
Inca is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS ABOUT ME: There is nothing Inca loves more than humans and thrives on human connection - she will greet everyone with her wagging tail and endearing looks. A true social butterfly, Inca is a favorite during walks, where she gladly accepts all the pets and praises showered upon her. She loves to spend her days going on long walks in the park, playing tug-of-war, looking out the window, and snoozing at home. She is an independent girl and will do well alone - some quality time outdoors with her people is all she needs to keep her happy. While Inca is generally great on her walks, she is learning to 'look at me' to help with her fear of big trucks. She has fairly good recall (though sometimes she cannot resist reaching the nearest human for pets) and is starting to get comfortable with being off leash outside so she can do what she loves the most - run free and play tag with her human in the park. Inca has been known to do fairly well in a crate in the past, but she is the best-behaved girl when left on her own, and will easily relax in her favorite spots at home. Though she loves to say hello and play with most dogs she meets, she is still learning to share and can get easily overwhelmed, and may be best suited as the only dog at home. Inca has spent her time in different homes, but she is a resilient girl - she is looking for a patient, forever home with people who can understand her sensitivities and give her the comfort she is craving for. ATTRIBUTES: Inca should not be placed in a home with children, but does well with children outside of the home. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. Story
Female, 2 yrs old, 42lbs (underweight) Personality: adaptable, affectionate, easygoing, good running partner, adventurous, goofy/funny, mischievous, playful, energetic, snuggler, rambunctious, and smart. Mabel makes it impossible not to have a smile on your face when you're together. She'll greet you every morning with tail wags and kisses, and her favorite thing is a rousing game of tug or chase, followed by a snuggle in the nearest available lap. Next on Mabel's list of fun activities is taking long nose-to-the-ground walks, and she's wonderful in the car if you want to take her on an adventure farther from home (she makes a fantastic hiking partner and she won't even complain about a bath after!). Mabel's foster says she is great at picking up cues from other animals - she respects boundaries set by dogs and cats alike, and even knows how to mimic the preferred play style of the resident dog in her foster home. A very food-motivated girl, Mabel has already learned words like "sit, "lay down, "potty, and "come." She seems to have figured out housetraining and is adjusting well to her crate. Does Marvelous Miss Mabel sound like the perfect fit for you? Apply today to meet her! We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
