Hi! My name is Grace, and I’m an adorable 7-year-old female Bichon Frise. I weigh about 8 lbs and am thrilled to be looking for my forever home! I was rescued from an illegal breeding facility, where I lived in harsh conditions. Despite my rough start, I’m sweet, loving, and ready to give my new family all my affection.  I am blind in one eye and limited vision in the other eye. I’m looking for a family who can offer me plenty of love and care, and I’d thrive in a home where I can get the attention and warmth I deserve. My adoption fee is $1,495 and includes: Spay/neuter DA2PP vaccinations Rabies and Bordetella shots Deworming Heartworm test Microchip Boarding fees Health certificate Airline transport costs A GPS tracker or Apple AirTag is required for all adopted dogs. You can bring your own or purchase an AirTag from us. Please note that we cannot guarantee exact age. Fill out the form, save it to your hard drive, then email back to sian@gingerspetrescue.org Hi!!  My name is Pippi from Korea and I am a wonderful approx. 3 year old female Bichon Frise.  I am about 15 lbs. and hoping to find a forever home.  I am friendly and was saved from an illegal Breeding Farm in South Korea.  I was rescued with many others by local activists from the horrific conditions we were in.  I fought to survive every day and was so badly neglected.  Korea kills an estimated 1.5 -2 million dogs a year to be eaten.  I just want a chance to be part of a family and for someone to love and care for me.  I am so lucky to get a one-way ticket to Seattle to find my new family.  Take me on car rides, walks in the park and I will become your best friend.  I get along well with people of all ages, gentle kids, and other dogs.  I will do best with a loving family that can give me lots of love and affection!  On all overseas adoption, we highly recommend our pet rescue dog trainer who will come to your home and help train your new pup.  My adoption fee of $1,795 will cover my spay/neuter, DA2PP shots, Rabies, Bordetella, Deworm, Heart Worm Test, Microchip, Boarding Fees, Health Certificate and airline transport cost from Korea to Seattle.  A GPS tracker or Apple AirTag is required for all adopted dogs. You can bring your own when adopting or you can purchase an AirTag from us.  The adoption fee is firm and helps save the life of another dog needing rescue and our other dogs in need of medical care.  We do not guarantee the breed and age of the dogs.  Donations are always appreciated to help pay down our vet bills at Greenwood Vet.  Ginger's Pet Rescue is a non-profit 501C-3 organization.  The adoption fee is donated to the rescue and is tax deductible.  Please e-mail at  admin@gingerspetrescue.org  for an adoption application.     March 7, 2026, 8:59 pm

Story
Floki was adopted by our adult daughter in Virginia some 10 years ago, and had been abused at the time. Since she relocated to Seattle, he has become a lovable companion for her, but she has recently had changes in her personal life that result in her having to move to a location that will not allow pets. Floki lived with us for some time before, and is now living here, but my wife and i are 79, and we already have our own pets, and we just can't really provide Floki with the life he deserves. He likes people, other dogs (if they are not too aggressive), and kids, but due to his size, he is always a bit skittish at first. However his has been a great companion for me, and for our other pets. He is not that young, but we want to find a good home for him to spend his remaining years. If you are looking for that kind of "friend," contact us.

🌼Meet Yeonu— Once Abandoned, Now Happy, Hopeful, and Ready for a Forever Family! Here are more photos and videos of Yeonu: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DTHefmckcPj/?igsh=amdoajdkdTM0ZWJh Yeonu was abandoned this winter in a village in Icheon, Korea. After someone reported him, he was taken to a shelter and placed on the euthanasia list. Fortunately, he was rescued and is currently being cared for by his foster family. However, his time there will be for a short time, as they are unable to foster him for too long. He would love to come to the Seattle area to meet his forever family! Name: Yeonu Breed:Bichon Frise Estimated Age: 4 years Gender: Male Weight: 20 lbs Spayed/Neutered: Yes Energy Level: 3–4 Yeonu loves plushie toys and enjoys playing fetch when toys with them. Otherwise, he is generally calm and relaxed. On walks, he does not show excessive or reactive behavior. At dog parks, he does not run wildly or rush other dogs. Instead, he greets politely and calmly explores the environment on his own. Good with dogs? Yes, Yeonu gets along well with most dogs. He greets dogs he meets on walks with a wagging tail. At dog parks, he sniffs and says hello politely but does not actively engage in rough or energetic play. He seems to have a more introverted personality. Good with cats? Unknown. Good with kids? Gentle children Sociability with people: Friendly with everyone When Yeonu first arrived at his foster home, he approached each family member sitting in the living room one by one to greet them. He may bark briefly at unfamiliar sounds outside or if someone suddenly appears wearing dark clothing, but he calms down quickly. He approaches strangers happily and wags his tail. Potty trained? Yes. Both on wee wee pads and outdoors. Leash manners: Yes. He may pull a little at the start while sniffing and marking, but it’s easy to manage. After a short time, he usually matches his handler’s pace and walks calmly. Barking: He may bark briefly at unfamiliar sounds but stops quickly when reassured. Separation anxiety: Yes. Yeonu has difficulty being completely alone and may bark or howl when left by himself. If at least one person is home, he does well, though he may whine briefly when his primary caregiver leaves and then settles. Mouthiness/nipping: No aggressive behavior. He loves plushy toys and gently mouths them during play. He takes treats well from an open palm, but when offered with fingertips, he may grab eagerly and accidentally catch fingers. Behavior: Occasionally, he may wake up and bark at a sound in the house, but he calms quickly when reassured. Aside from separation anxiety, no major behavioral issues have been observed. Health Notes: X-rays show a possible issue with the left hip. He has mild patellar luxation, with the right knee graded 2 and the left knee graded 1. When he was rescued, he had kennel cough and mycoplasma, completed treatment, and has fully recovered. Additional Notes: He rides calmly in the car and has been comfortable on rides up to 2 hours. He is comfortable in a dog stroller and relaxes in it. He loves treats very much and sometimes needs calming cues like “sit” before receiving them. He enjoys being petted and likes staying close to people he loves, but he is also comfortable resting on his own at a short distance. When people are eating foods he does not recognize as his own, he calmly lies down under the table or nearby. He enjoys fruits and vegetables such as apples, lettuce, and sweet potatoes. When people become excited, dance, or jump around, he gets excited and may attempt mounting behavior by holding onto legs. He behaves very well during grooming. He has completed hygiene grooming sessions of about 40 minutes. He was slightly sensitive during nail trimming but manageable. Ideal home: A family where at least one person can spend most of the day with him. Additional Comments Yeonu was very attached to his foster mom at first and became anxious when she left, even if others were home. With time and some distance created, he improved a lot. After 3–4 weeks, he only whines briefly when she leaves, though being completely alone is still hard for him. Despite this, he is a very relaxed and easygoing dog. The day after arriving, he was already comfortable lying on the sofa, sleeping on his back with his belly up. He accepts baths calmly, though he may shake off water once or twice. He doesn’t like the hair dryer, but will stay still if it’s on a stand and he’s brushed while drying. Tooth brushing is still being trained; he doesn’t enjoy it but tolerates it well without growling or biting. He knows several commands, including sit, paw, high five, nose touch, V sign, and wait. Food allergies have not been confirmed. Like many Bichon-type dogs, he has tear staining that causes discoloration around his mouth and paws. With proper care and identifying the allergens, this should improve over time. He will also need regular maintenance and grooming, like most Bichons. 🌼Yeonu is a sweetheart and is ready to find his forever family to shower him with love and cuddles!💖 For adoption inquiries, please email/ fill out an adoption application via our link on our instagram bio.🌸

Coco has seen & witnessed evil in life. She was pulled out of a slaughterhouse with several of our other rescues. Soul destroying to think of what she has been through & yet she still loves human beings even after everything she has seen, heard & her previous life. We cannot even begin to imagine what Coco witnessed & heard when she was at the slaughterhouse. How Coco ended up in a slaughterhouse for human consumption & yes you did read that correctly, we will never know? What we do know is, she was pulled out of there by our outstanding Chinese rescuer just in time. Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued Coco & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting Coco out, her fate was a torturous death. We believe every sweet soul such as Coco & her friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. Now Coco is looking for a special family to cherish her & be patient with her & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all her needs. Coco was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely thankful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Coco was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. For everything that Coco has been through she still loves humans & will get on her back for you to rub her belly, she loves her belly to be rubbed. She will even put her paws on you for cuddles just as she cuddles into you while sleeping next to you. She is the most beautiful soul & up for an adventure. She just wants you to love her & she will love you back. She adores being hugged & held because the reality is we are the first real people in her life to show her such true love & affection apart for a very short amount of time in China. She is a really smart girl too because on the day of arrival in her foster home she taught herself to run up hardwood stairs & follow her foster mum. When she finds people who love her they become his world. She is such a soft gentle soul her foster mum said with a very sweet personality. She loves to run & play with her foster siblings & must go to a home with another dog who will play with her. She loves a good outfit & will get ready for you to put one on her. Coco eats a clean diet, meaning raw fruits, raw vegetables, 70 % raw proteins, grains, fats & supplements. She also enjoys collagen sticks & bully sticks. All of her treats are homemade Coco has been taught to walk on harness & leash & has been doing wonderful. She would need continued work walking on her harness & leash. Coco is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Coco adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing him, cleaning his eyes, grooming her, baths, the hairdryer she loves it all. She also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Coco & we have been excited to change her world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. So far she has not started showing interest in toys in her foster home. Coco has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. She is such an amazing, loving little lady. With Coco we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lad only. Please do not apply with the intent to crate this girl. We are also looking for a forever home for Coco where someone is home during the day or Coco can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. Did we mention this girl loves a good outfit too. Coco is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be very patient with her & understanding. Coco has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company. She can be found at times snuggled up to her foster siblings & will want to sleep in bed with you & she does in her current loving foster home. She must go to a forever home with other playful dogs in the home. She will jump at the side of the bed to be picked up so she can get in. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Coco’s new forever home if it’s a free standing home. Coco is now roughly 18.74 lbs & 3 years old. She is spayed & possibly a bichon frise & what she is mixed with we are not sure? She is microchipped, up to date on her shots including DHLPP, rabies & dewormed. Once these shots expire we will not redo them except rabies as we will not over vaccinate our beloved dogs. We have spent over $2000 on Coco with bringing her to the US with her travel airfare paying for her medical care, including, shots, spay microchip etc, than her adoption fee comes close to covering. Coco has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had Coco with small children so we do not recommend children, but it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & animals. We were not there when Coco was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Coco’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Coco potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Coco & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Zoom followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Coco who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely sweet lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. Coco has an adoption fee of $875 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Bubbles! Bubbles is a 1-year-old, 12 lb Maltese/Terrier mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. This little girl is as sweet as her name and is ready to find a calm, loving home to help get her out of her shell! Bubbles is very shy and still learning that the world is a safe place. She has a gentle, sensitive nature and will need a quiet, predictable home with patient adopters who can give her the time and space she needs to build confidence. Once she feels safe, Bubbles is incredibly sweet, loving, and affectionate. She just needs a little help coming out of her shell to show her full personality. She does well with other dogs and would greatly benefit from having a calm, well-adjusted canine companion in the home to help guide her and boost her confidence. Because of her sensitive nature, Bubbles is looking for a home without young children and in a more peaceful environment where she can settle in comfortably. If you have a soft spot for shy dogs and the patience to help one grow, Bubbles will reward you with so much love! Bubbles is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
Meet Sophie 🐾 Sophie is a sweet 4-5-year-old Maltese mix who is ready to leave her difficult past behind and start a new life full of love. Despite the hardships she experienced before coming to rescue, Sophie has an incredibly affectionate spirit. She forms a deep bond with her person and would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time. Sophie absolutely loves being close to her favorite human and is happiest when she’s snuggled up beside you. While Sophie can get along with other dogs, she would truly prefer to be the only dog in the home so she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves. Sophie is housebroken and recently had a full dental, so she’s feeling great and ready for her fresh start. She does carry a small reminder of her past — an old injury on her back from being attacked by a larger dog, and the fur in that area will likely never grow back. But it doesn’t slow her down or take away from her loving personality. She will require regular grooming to keep her coat in good shape. Sophie is looking for a patient, loving home where she can finally feel safe and cherished. In return, she will give endless cuddles, loyalty, and companionship. Could Sophie be the perfect little shadow you’ve been looking for? ❤️🐾 Sophie is fully vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Haunter! Haunter is a 4-year-old, 15 lb Shih Tzu/Pekingese mix with the cutest little underbite and a soft, fluffy coat. He’ll need a home committed to regular grooming to keep him comfortable and looking his best. Haunter came to us from a difficult past where he missed out on early socialization, and because of that, the outside world can feel overwhelming for him. He is very fearful in unfamiliar environments, especially with loud noises and busy surroundings, and he will need continued support learning the basics—including leash walking—at his own pace. For this reason, Haunter will do best in a standalone home with a fully fenced yard. Apartments or high-traffic living situations would not be a good fit for him. At heart, Haunter is a gentle, loving boy who just wants to feel safe. He loves being close to his person, enjoys being held, and prefers a calm, predictable lifestyle. He has not shown to be a high-energy or playful dog and would thrive in a quiet home where he can move at his own pace while slowly building confidence with the world. Haunter would do well as an only dog with an adopter committed to patient, positive socialization, or in a home with a laid-back, calm dog companion who can peacefully coexist and help him feel more secure. He will need a patient, understanding adopter—ideally someone experienced with shy or fearful dogs—who can help him learn that the world doesn’t have to be scary. This sweet boy has so much love to give and is looking for a soft place to land with someone who will give him the time, structure, and compassion he deserves. Haunter is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.
