Story
Barney is a 14-years-young shih tzu mix. We don’t really know much about his background, other than that, when he was brought into the shelter, he had to be shaved and had a raging ear infection so bad that his foster family thought he was deaf. Barney has had a dental, cleared up the ear infection and adjusted to life in his foster home. He has learned lots of new things, proving that you absolutely can teach an old dog new tricks, and that he is not deaf. He uses the doggie door like a champ and is currently living with 5 other dogs. He is a very pleasant fellow who likes to be in the same room with his people. He would make a great companion for someone older who is home most of the time. He walks great on a leash but really doesn’t need to go too far. He is housetrained, but he isn’t a huge fan of the rain, and he needs to be in a home without stairs. His foster family can’t say enough good things about him and says he is a very easy keeper who deserves a second ‘leash’ at a great life.
