Story
Sherwood was found by a Good Samaritan who tried her hardest to find his owner, to no avail, after he was found wandering her neighborhood. We are guessing he is about a 5-year- old malti-poo wieghing in at about 12-15 lbs. His finder says he rides well in a car, and loves to be held and keep you company everywhere you go. He is crate-trained and will sleep quietly there all night. Sherwood is a bit shy and didn't know what to do on leash at first, but he is learning fast. With time and patience, Sherwood should adjust to his new forever home quickly. WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required, which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. ADOPTION FEE of $440 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible. We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend. If you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know via email and we will try to accommodate. However, we cannot guarantee the animal will be at the event without an approved application. Story
Max is a very lovable and sweet gentleman, his is 15 and weighs 9 pounds. My mom owned Max since he was a puppy and he was always an amazing companion to her, she is now in a memory care facility due to having FTD and I am still in college and do not have the recourses necessary to be able to keep him. Max is potty trailed but because he is a senior gentleman, he cannot go a full 9-5 without being let out although he would do well in a play pen with a potty pad if a longer time alone was necessary on occasion. He has no health issues. His main need is he does need his food softened as he does have an underbite and softening his food allows him to eat easier. It breaks my heart to rehome Max and all I want is for him to go to a good and loving home. He is amazingly tolerant with children and other animals (dogs and cats). He is also a big cuddle bug and loves being your shadow. Please note if to a loving home I am more than happy to wave the addition fee
