Thelma! This lovely little 7 yr old bichon lady is looking for someone to be the Louise in her life (but maybe with a less dark theme). Thelma came to us as a retired breeder after the breeding farm where she lived no longer had any use for her. We, however, think her true calling should be that of a spoiled family pet and she is currently auditioning potential adopters. Thelma is the funniest, happy little lady. She is good with other dogs, although her currently playgroup is less play and more just middle aged ladies having tea and gossip together. She loves other low key dogs. She would also do great as your one and only. She has done great with kids at events and seems to really enjoy their company. Cats are unknown at this time, however we could arrange a cat test for a qualified, approved application with cats. She is good in a crate and is working on housebreaking and leash manners. She loves to go out for short walks and sniff all the news in the neighborhood. Thelma clearly did not have much, if any, vet care prior to coming to us, however she has had the works with us, including full bloodwork, 4dx (including heartworm) tested negative. Hey there! I'm Claire, or Claire Bear as my foster mom likes to call me. I am the most beautiful 3 year old Shichon (Shitzu and Bichon). I was released by a commercial breeder with my 10 week old puppy Ivan. Ivan has been adopted and I am so excited to find my forever home! Presently, I'm being fostered with a gaggle of small dog friends, young and old, male and female. Although I get along with everyone, I most love my foster mom. I would love a home where my mom is retired or works from home. I like to sit close by and oversee things. Of course, I also like to help with the chores, like laundry; those socks are my favorite;) I am curious about everything and think I belong everywhere lol. I hear foster mom frequently calling my name and asking me what I'm doing. I absolutely love running around the yard and exploring! I travel well in the car and I'd love to run errands with my forever mom. At night, I love sleeping in the bed with foster mom but I understand that sometimes, during the day, I must be in a crate to keep me safe while foster mom can't be there with me. I take awhile to warm up to strangers but once we've built trust, I am as loyal as they come. My forever family needs to be patient with me and understand it likely won't be love at first sight. I'm more looking for that committed love where we take things slow, learn about each other and forge a strong bond that will endure a lifetime. That kind of relationship is worth waiting for. Until I know I can trust you, I will be a flight risk, and therefore foster mom says that my forever home must have a fenced in yard. A confident resident dog would help me to adjust to my forever home. I'm doing well with house-training but regression in a new environment is common. I haven't been around kids but I would think that older, respectful dog savvy kids would be kinda fun. I am around 15 pounds. I've been spayed and microchipped. I'm up to date on my shots. Rocky is a 7 yr. old, neutered male bichon. Although Rocky supposedly lived with another dog in his previous home, he's been in foster care for awhile now, and we believe he needs to be an only dog. When he has been with other dogs in his foster home, scuffles and jealousy have been a consistent issue. He's much happier as an only dog. Rocky is house trained as long as he gets out regularly. If he is left alone for long periods of time or not given regular opportunities to go outside, he will mark in the house. Rocky LOVES visitors. He will snuggle up to anyone who comes over to get some love. However, his favorite thing is to just hang with his trusted peeps. We don't have kids in our household, and given his alpha personality, we think Rocky would probably do best in an adult home. However, with all the adult visitors that have come to our house, with very few exceptions, Rocky has been extremely friendly. He is put off by loud, "in your face" behavior. This causes him to be very tentative. If we are running errands and are just going to be running in and out of stores for a minute here and there, Rocky comes along for the ride. He's a great traveler and LOVES coming along. If he's welcome in a store or restaurant and there aren't a lot of other dogs, we bring him along. He's great with PEOPLE, but not so much with other dogs. Rocky is a couch potato when you want to sit on the couch and watch a movie or take a nap. However, he's also extremely active and playful. If you don't feel like playing with him, he'll find a toy or a dog bed and play with it all by himself. He can be a hoot to watch. If he feels you are not giving him an appropriate amount of attention, he will come over and either sit on top of you or "paw" you until you start doing your job! (i.e., petting him or playing with him!) Rocky's photos don't do him justice. We took them when he first arrived and they don't show his true personality. He's absolutely adorable. Just like all bichons, he's adorable, but his personality makes him even cuter. Everyone who visits falls in love with him.
