*A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR FRIENDS AT `RESCUE & RECOVER` FOR FULLY SPONSORING MAXX & MOXXEE`S ADOPTION FEE AS PART OF THEIR 2ND ANNUAL NEW YEAR KENNEL CLEAR** Hello, are names are: Maxx & MoxxeeDOB: 10/24/2008Breed: Bichon Frise/Yorkshire Terrier Weight: Maxx is 28.5 lbs, Moxxee is 14.5 lbsRescued From: Owner surrender*MAXX & MOXXEE ARE BONDED AND MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER*Maxx and Moxxee are a 16-year-old brother and sister who have lived their entire lives together. Their family reached out for help after their schedules changed and they felt Maxx and Moxxee deserved more attention. We had a willing foster family, so we accepted them with open arms, ensuring they didn’t end up in the shelter system. Now that they are all cleaned up and feeling good, they are ready to find a family who will love them for whatever time they have left. Maxx is Moxxee’s guardian – the way he watches over her is incredible. She is frailer than he, and doesn’t have as much stamina. They both sleep a lot and love a cozy bed or couch. Maxx enjoys walks with his other canine foster siblings too. They go to the bathroom outside and use pee pads inside. Maxx and Moxxee have been nothing but sweet despite all of the changes around them. Having a fenced yard to meander around would be ideal for them, but they would also be content with leash walks. We adore this senior duo and cannot wait to find the perfect, caring adopter that will love them and care for them in their golden years. Seniors are the best!!All our pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? Journey is a 2.5 year old spayed female poodle/bichon who weighs 10 pounds. She is as sweet as pie and is loving her new life after being shaved due to matting. She has tested great with other dogs, is friendly, super sweet and will make a wonderful companion. She loves treats, lives with several other dogs and cannot wait to meet her new family. For Journey to feel most comfortable, she must go to a home with another dog and a fenced in yard. Hello, my name is: BeverlyDOB: 01/22/2018Sex/Breed: Spayed female Bichon FriseWeight: 12.5 lbsRescued From: Breeding kennelDespite living in a kennel her whole life, Beverly is happy, sweet, and trusting. She gratefully made the transition from kennel to couch and is soaking in all the love and attention she is being offered in her foster home. The small joys in a dog’s life are simply the best things ever to Beverly. Things like going for a walk, snuggling on the coach, and having two full meals a day make her SO happy. She’ll even balance on her hind feet in excitement for food and treats – it’s the cutest thing ever!! Beverly is looking for a family that is willing to work with her as she learns her manners and training. Her foster family has already gotten the ball rolling, but she still has room for improvement. Beverly promises to make it worth your while with her devotion and sweetness! Her foster family includes adults, dogs, and cats and she has done well with everyone (though the cat is a little suspect in her eyes). Making new friends comes easily for this girl! We can’t wait to watch Beverly reach her full potential with a loving family of her very own… could that be yours??Help us continue to step up for dogs like Beverly and consider donating towards their medical care: https://secure.givelively.org/donate/all-4-paws-rescueAll our dogs are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? Story
Rocky is a 7 yr. old, neutered male bichon. Although Rocky supposedly lived with another dog in his previous home, he's been in foster care for awhile now, and we believe he needs to be an only dog. When he has been with other dogs in his foster home, scuffles and jealousy have been a consistent issue. He's much happier as an only dog. Rocky is house trained as long as he gets out regularly. If he is left alone for long periods of time or not given regular opportunities to go outside, he will mark in the house. Rocky LOVES visitors. He will snuggle up to anyone who comes over to get some love. However, his favorite thing is to just hang with his trusted peeps. We don't have kids in our household, and given his alpha personality, we think Rocky would probably do best in an adult home. However, with all the adult visitors that have come to our house, with very few exceptions, Rocky has been extremely friendly. He is put off by loud, "in your face" behavior. This causes him to be very tentative. If we are running errands and are just going to be running in and out of stores for a minute here and there, Rocky comes along for the ride. He's a great traveler and LOVES coming along. If he's welcome in a store or restaurant and there aren't a lot of other dogs, we bring him along. He's great with PEOPLE, but not so much with other dogs. Rocky is a couch potato when you want to sit on the couch and watch a movie or take a nap. However, he's also extremely active and playful. If you don't feel like playing with him, he'll find a toy or a dog bed and play with it all by himself. He can be a hoot to watch. If he feels you are not giving him an appropriate amount of attention, he will come over and either sit on top of you or "paw" you until you start doing your job! (i.e., petting him or playing with him!) Rocky's photos don't do him justice. We took them when he first arrived and they don't show his true personality. He's absolutely adorable. Just like all bichons, he's adorable, but his personality makes him even cuter. Everyone who visits falls in love with him. Story
Archie is a 14 year old, neutered male bichon. He has lived with his brother, Jethro, for nearly his entire life. Archie and his brother LOVE one another, and we'd like to keep him and his brother together. Both Archie and Jethro are very sweet boys. They came from a very sad situation where the owners, who were quite devoted to the pair, both died. They were the grandparents of the family. After their deaths, the dogs were given to an uncle who promised to care for them. Unfortunately, he was sick with alcoholism. He would leave for days at a time, leaving them trapped in crates with no food or water and no way to escape or go outside for bathroom breaks. Luckily the family became aware of the situation fairly quickly and you can imagine the horrific site they were confronted with when they were able to gain access to the house and get the dogs. At this point, Archie and Jethro are safely in foster care. However, they are living in a home where there is a dog-aggressive dog. For this reason they have to remain separated. Everyone is doing their best to make the most of a less than ideal situation. The two boys have been groomed and have been fully vetted. Both have had their teeth cleaned under anesthesia. They each lost a couple of teeth, but only a couple, which is a tribute to the care they received while living with their original owners - the grandparents. Archie had two 'warts' removed - one from his ear & the other from his chin. They are both as happy as can be and doing great. Fully recovered at this point and ready to embark on a new adventure together. Are you their new family? Bichons can live 18-20+ years. Are you that special family, willing to take a chance on a pair of wonderful dogs who are just looking for a quiet household where they can spend their 'golden years'? If so, go to our website and fill out an adoption application. They are very friendly, low-key boys. Not high-maintenance or needy at all. Just very appreciative to be in a good home where they are getting regular attention, regular meals and regular access to a fenced yard for exercise and bathroom breaks. If you'd consider adopting these two boys and giving them a home for their golden years, complete an application on our website: www. dvbr. org and someone will be in touch once we have had a chance to review it to set up a visit at which time you can meet the two boys.
