Story
Hi! My name is Barkley and I am from Missouri. I am about 10 years old and am a Bichin Frise! I am a little shy, but a whole lotta sweet, and I am curious and want to be loved. To top it off, I sure am cute, and I am the perfect age of 10 years old! From her foster: Barkley, nicknamed Georgie due to her curiosity, is a very sweet and very shy little girl. She loves other dogs, but avoids all human contact so far. Her curiosity gets the best of her though, so she follows me around the house at a distance and seems happy to be just talked to. Her house training is coming along. She seems to know that outside is the place, but doesn't give signals yet, so we try to get her outside on a schedule. It helps to have a companion dog to see what to do. So far, she is not walking on a leash (seems afraid of it) or comfortable with steps, so we carry her outside and back in. Given a choice, she avoids any kind of crate or kennel (the only times she barks is when she is kenneled); just prefers a soft blanket in the corner of a room so she can watch her foster sibling play. She does seem to like being in a doggie stroller, too, so she can go for long rides while we do our walks. She really is the sweetest little thing; she just needs lots of time, lots of quiet space, and lots of patience and love so she can learn to trust humans. She is likely a flight risk due to her fear of humans; a fenced yard and/or double leashing with a harness is needed.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       DOB: 12/07/2022 Requires another dog in home: Yes, another well-balanced dog is required Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: No Weight: 10 pounds Food Fed: Solid Gold Requires a fenced yard:  Yes, required Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hi, my name is Corbin and I am a very shy and timid young guy that is ready to find my forever people with patience, toys and lots of love to help me be the best I can be! I’m very afraid of being touched by humans but I do love them.  Over the past few months, foster mom has been working with me on getting used to touch. She can now hold me and put me in her lap and I know I am safe.  I give her smiles and tail wags.  I’ve been brave enough to lick my foster mom’s hand but I’ll run away if you try to hold me or pick me up.  that whole picking me up thing makes me nervous and I panic, but I do enjoy gentle scratches.  With time, lots of patience and love, I’ll get there.  I’m getting a little better every day but when things are scary, they’re really scary! You have to understand that I likely have never been in a loving home so sounds like the TV, clanking dishes, the horrible vacuum and lots of commotion might make me a little worried. I have shown foster mom that I do have some puppy antics in me, hee hee! I like to play with soft toys, run around the yard and wrestle with the other dogs in my foster home. So, it’ll be important that I have a good doggy role model in my forever home to help me learn that touch isn’t scary and keep learning. A social, well-balanced and confident dog is required. This means that my buddy will need to show me humans are safe, how to get on a potty routine and teach me which toys are the best! My fur-brother and the other dogs in my foster home have been amazing teachers! I am still working on my dog skills like potty training. We go outside on a routine, but I will still need of practice in my forever home. Foster mom wants to let you know that I am smart – I already know what “go potty” means! We tried kennel training, and oh boy, I will tell you how much I don’t like it! Bark bark! Foster mom uses gates for the dogs when she isn’t home. I also bark at her when she comes home – maybe I’m telling you I’m glad you’re home, or maybe I’m filling you in on what happened when you were away!  Also, a fenced yard is required as I don’t have a leash or tie-out experience. This is very important for potty training too. My foster mom said I’m fun, adorable, learns quickly and likes to play with other dogs and that I play hard!  Oh and that I have a wonderful appetite! I will let you know with a bark bark that I am excited for dinner! I’m just an overall, very happy dog who loves the feel of the sun on my face when I’m sitting outside, other dogs and treats.  All I need now is a forever home with lots of patience, unconditional love and a family that will help me be the best I can be! Foster mom says that with time I will learn to trust – we are taking baby steps. Will you take those baby steps with me? Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there, I’m Dwight, a fluffy little BichonPoo with a big heart and a zest for life! At just a year old and 14 pounds, I’m still learning the ropes but making big strides every day. My foster mom says I’m cuddly, and I have to agree—I love resting my head on her shoulder whenever I get the chance. Once I learn you are someone I can trust, we can be friends. My favorite things? Walks, treats, and romping around with my foster sister! I’m pretty polite with other dogs we meet on walks, and though I can be shy with people at first, I’m working on it. My confidence is building, especially when I’m with a calm, friendly dog I can follow. I do require another confident and social dog in my forever home so I can continue learning all the important dogs things, including trusting people. I’m learning a lot in my foster home. We are working on “Come” and “Down.” I’m doing great with potty training on a schedule and can even use a potty pad if needed. I’m not really into crates, but I do well on a leash—even if I get a bit excited sometimes and pull a little. When I'm outside, I need to be on a leash for extra safety, but I'm getting better at coming back from the fenced yard into the house without any trouble. I'm a great eater and a bit mischievous, which adds to my charm. In the mornings, I love to wake up my foster parent by licking their ear—I'm such a sweetheart! A calm home with gentle, understanding people would be perfect for me, especially if there’s another dog my size to help me feel secure. Oh, and I do best when things aren’t too loud or chaotic. I’ll bark if other dogs pass by our yard, but just a gentle reminder, and I’ll quiet down. So, if you’re looking for a lovable and shy guy with a big heart and a curious spirit, I think we’d make a pretty great team! With patience and love, I'll continue to grow more confident. I'm a wonderful dog who just needs a little extra time and care to fully blossom.   * Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses.
