Story
Meet Delilah! 🐾Delilah is a sweet 5-year-old spayed Bichon Frise who is looking for her forever home. She came into our care after her owners moved and weren’t able to bring her along. Delilah was previously housebroken, and while she may need a little time to relearn routines in her new home, she is eager to adjust and thrive with the right guidance.Delilah is on the shyer side at first, but once she gets to know you, she blossoms into a loving and loyal companion. She enjoys cozying up on soft blankets, creating her perfect little spot, and of course, treats! Baths are one of her favorite things, and she loves the comfort of a calm and quiet environment. She’s met other dogs and hasn’t shown much interest in them, and while she has no history with cats, she does well with children—even newborns—but tends to keep to herself and prefers doing her own thing. Delilah would do best in a home that can offer patience, understanding, and a calm atmosphere without loud noises. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, and low-key companion who will warm up your heart once she feels safe, Delilah might just be the perfect match for you! 🐶💖

Story
Cody is a very gentle, sweet and lovable dog. Sadly his previous owners didn't take very good care of him and kept him living mostly outside where he frequently got out of the yard. He was found running loose by a busy street in Detroit when our director saw him and was able to rescue him. Cody was able to lead her back to a house where he lived and his owner agreed to surrendered him. When we got him he was a mess with his coat so matted and long we had a bag full of fur after we trimmed him. Cody is a very happy fellow now that he is finally safe and being taken care of. He likes to run outside in the yard and play with the small dogs he is being fostered with and we think he would love another small dog to play with at his new home. Cody also enjoys playing with toys and stuffies. Cody will make a wonderful addition to your family if given the chance. We were told he is 3 years old and he weighs about 24 pounds.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.UPDATE: Bella 3 yr old Bichon / Maltese, potty pad trained, loves to play with toys. Bella is a jumper! She can jump baby gates with no problem, she stands and walks on her hind feet. Meet the Quartet of Cuteness!   Bella, Nala, Olaf and Max are all Bichon Frise / Maltese mixes.  They may be a mom, dad and two offspring but we aren't certain.  What we do know is they all came from the same home.  Their owner died and the family was unable to keep them.  Each one has a distinct personality:  Bella is described as an 'attention hog', while Nala is more laid back and will not seek attention, but if you are willing to give it she will happily accept it.  Max seems more outgoing than Olaf, who prefers at this point to 'observe' his world.  All are said to be good with other dogs and children. All will need time to adjust to a new home and routine.  Even though they are said to be good with other dogs and children, they have only lived together, so all will need slow and proper introductions to children and other dogs.  We don't know how they are with cats.  They all need basic training, including potty training.  Vet appointments for needed vaccines and spay/neuter are being done soon.  Because of their breed, each will require ongoing grooming, an additional cost to consider. We know these littles won't be with us for long so if interested in adopting any of them please apply soon.     Happy Days Dog & Cat Rescue requires a Spay/Neuter Contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization at the time of adoption. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. HDDCR holds a deposit [$50 for dogs, $25 for cats] in addition to the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog or cat was spayed/neutered by the date stipulated on the Spay/Neuter Contract. The deposit will be refunded to the adopter if spay/neuter was done according to the Spay/Neuter Contract signed by the adopter. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The microchip is transferred to the adopter once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a one-time $15 microchip enrollment fee, paid at the time of adoption.  Microchips are enrolled with AKC Reunite.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
