Meet Fern 🐾🌿 Fern is a gentle, sweet girl with a soft soul and a heart that simply needs a little time to shine. She can be a bit reserved when first meeting new people or entering new environments, but she prefers to open up at her own pace — and once she does, it’s incredibly rewarding to watch her confidence grow. She’s looking for a patient and understanding home that will let her settle in comfortably without rushing her. Kind words, calm energy, and consistency will go a long way in helping Fern feel safe and loved. Behind her shy exterior is a loving companion just waiting to bloom 🌱💛 With time, patience, and a little encouragement, Fern is sure to become someone’s very best friend. - Around 6.5 years old - Currently under 15lbs - Good with dogs - Adoption fee: $300 This dog is currently housed at our shelter. If you are interested, please come in at your earliest availability during our open hours, no appointment necessary. We do same-day adoptions, do not hold dogs, and work on a first-come, first-served basis as long as it is an excellent fit for both parties. If you have questions or want to possibly schedule an appointment on one of our closed days, you may email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), distemper/parvo combination vaccine, leptospirosis vaccine (if age-appropriate), bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea preventative, a dental cleaning (if necessary), and a microchip. Future vaccines, tests, and treatments will be the responsibility of the adopter.

Story
Mookie came to me from a breeder that was terminally ill and has since passed. This breeder kept her dogs in an outdoor kennel facility that had concrete and pea gravel flooring. They were not house trained and possibly had never been in a home before. . Luckily Mookie is a very sweet and cuddly dog. She will need help walking on a leash and house training. She will need a crate to help her learn...Her adoption fee covers her vet fees and grooming. Thank you.
