Story
Sparkler (Sparky to his friends) is an 8'ish-year old, 15-pound Bichon.  Sparky is looking for a forever home with his best girl, Starla.   Sparky is a charming little fellow who is adjusting quite well to life outside the puppy mill.  He loves to play with toys and other dogs.  He zips around the yard with such exuberance.  He will throw himself into his foster mom's lap for snuggles when the mood strikes.  Foster mom now understands why people love Bichons so much. Sparky and Starla clearly adore each other and enjoy playing together (Check out a cute video of them here)! They take a little bit to warm up to new people, but when they do, it is all goodness!  Their ideal home is in the suburbs with a securely fenced yard.  They both do well with other dogs.  Having another dog in their forever home would be a bonus!  Children make them nervous, so teenagers and older is preferred. Sparky is in good health!  He is missing all of his teeth, so his tongue hangs out to the left of his mouth.  No worries - he still eats kibble.  He is darling!!!  To learn more about Starla and Sparkler, please email adoptme@cockerspanielrescue.com.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 13, 2024, 7:02 am

Story
Starla is ready to be the star at YOUR home!  Starla is a 6'ish-year-old, 15-pound beautiful Bichon.  Starla is looking for a forever home with her best friend, Sparkler!   Starla is a sweet girl who is loving life outside of the puppy mill.  She enjoys napping in sunshine and rolling in grass.  She just recently learned how comfortable sofas can be, and she'll wait to be lifted onto to one.  She loves her treats, particularly chicken.  Starla has a fun, sweet personality, especially when she is with her bestie Sparkler.  They both clearly love each other and enjoy playing together (Check out a cute video of them here)! They can take a little bit to warm up to new people, but when they do they are super sweet and adorable. Their ideal home is in the suburbs with a securely fenced yard.  They both do very well with other dogs.  Having another dog in their forever home to show them the ropes would be a bonus!  Children make them nervous, so teenagers and older is preferred. Starla is in excellent health.  To learn more about Starla and Sparkler, please email adoptme@cockerspanielrescue.com.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 13, 2024, 7:02 am

Story
Clyde is a perky little guy with loads of personality!  He loves snuggling, rolling over, getting belly rubs, and sleeping in bed with his human.  He likes to follow his human around, not always needing attention but being near them.  He is completely housetrained and knows several commands such as sit, down, and come. He takes treats very gently and shows no food or toy aggression.  He walks easily on the leash and loves going for walks.  He is a smart little boy who learns easily and seems to enjoy learning. At his fosters he loves to sit in the window seat and watch the world go by.  He is playful in the house and able to entertain himself with small toys. He is a good boy when left alone and will take a nap until his person comes home. Clyde was found wandering the streets dirty and matted.  He is now recovering from his ordeal.  As his coat starts to grow back you can see the adorable fuzzy guy he really is.  Clyde is 4 years old and 15 pounds.  He needs to get to know people on his own terms - he doesn't like people approaching him but prefers to do the approaching.  When he feels safe he will happily approach you for pets and snuggles. Clyde seems to get along well with bigger, calm dogs when properly introduced.  We think a confident dog would help him feel safer and more confident but he will also be fine as an only dog.  He also shows a positive attitude when he meets cats and we think he might have lived with cats before.  Clyde deserves a home where he will get the peace and security he deserves.  He will need consistent training and is doing well with medication that has made him feel secure.  He needs dog-experienced, adult-only adopter(s) who will work on training with him. PAW would like to find an adopter or foster-to-adopt for Clyde and will support an adopter with training. ##2163345##

Story
This darling girl was found wandering the street and PAW scooped her up to find her forever home.  Little Lottie is estimated to be about 8 years old and weighs 10 pounds.  She is a sweet girl who comes to people easily for pets.  She enjoys being carried around like a little pocket pup.  Lottie walks well on the leash with a cute bounce in her step. Lottie did not react to other pups in the shelter but we are still getting to know her.  She will be with a short term foster as she recovers from her neutering and we will update more.  If you are interested in adopting or fostering her act quickly!  With a little girl this cute and sweet she will get snapped up! PAW adopts to the local VA/ DC/ MD area. ##2189194##
